swft will move this thread to the proper message board when he sees it, and it'll be lost in the VORTEX of never being seen again (where it belongs)

114 octane will really let you dial the timing up.
All stock i've seen the bike pull 157/72 on pump fuel. Not too shabby for a 1K motor but vastly different from our 165-175 stock HP and 99-104 TQ. We have so much torque it's not even funny. Pull out the secondary restrictors and map JUST fuel to compensate for the lean condition and you have even more TQ underneath the curve. Stock vs stock with equal weight and skilled riders the poor GSXR should be handly beaten, not to mention top end speed.

peak means nuttin, its whats under the curve, and how broad the curve is.

we had another fella' come in here and think "peak" power meant something.
and then again, with crack being such a widespread drug, maybe some of these people think the little gixxer can actually "beat" a 14
Notice only the "gixxer people" think so. Eeven the thr R1 flat blows the gixxer out the last few years (and will in '07), the R1 people have enough sense to do the math regarding drag racing a ZX14.

nope
you forgot about torque multiplication through the gearbox, and relative to rpm.
Your like a bad habit,
continuous flashbacks.
you still own the 14, why if the GSXR1K is so much better?

Please...ZX14....GSXR1000 are two totally different bikes.
I own both, the 14 is an evil beast, the Gixxer 1K is meant for carving the track. The 14 can carve too, but not as well as the Gixxer. Once again, two totally different bikes but both have the "fun factor".

I had a kawi, and now a gsxr. I like them both, but the Suzuki seems a little more balanced. They also swept the podium (had to throw it in)

I have won and lost too modified never stock bigger bikes. I agree tq and where it is at is a plus. However will not guarantee the busa/14 owner's a win everytime
I think the take away of the post should be the impressive numbers that not only this 1k made but all the litre bikes put out with 300-352cc less displacement than what a Busa/14 are making.
Take the same formula including the weight factor and apply to ZX-14rr, GSXR1400, R14, CBR1400RR what would you have? a bunch of raving, mad, salivating consumers snapping them up!
Fuck it, enjoy your investment whatever it maybe right?
