He had my bike for 8 months and then rushed putting it together and screwed up a lot of shit...Chris Jones dyno`d it at 172hp ACE PERFORMANCE 1287cc Sal tuned...
2 cyl head bolts loose
T/B clamps just hanging on the int. boots
ALL motor mounts hand tight and 3 were missing the nuts
02 sensor mounted straight down on the header.(it was lower than the oil pan)
Couldn`t set my clutch up without calling me 5 times so I could explain it to him...(lockup clutch)And he runs one on his Busa...
Paid $350 for his REAL WORLD TUNE and it still needed to be tuned when I got it..The motor just never would make the power claimed on his site,no where near it...
So this is WTF I got to say about this man`s motor being a POS....Honest truth...

Like I said....EVEN Sal makes mistakes....But his mistakes cost me $5800.

He would make that shit right one way or the other. 172 Hp and Chris is a reputable man to dyno your bike for sure. I believe Shane661 had a 1287 of his that never ran worth a damn either and sold it off before many people found out it was a turd! Sal has made one 12R that anyone knows of run and that's the bike belonging to some guy named Dale. The old BikerBoyz bike as everyone knows. It ran and ran well but even Phantom's bike never really impressed anyone. Sal most probably made a mistake that several people make. He done well and got busy, too busy for what he was capable of doing. Instead of telling people no he couldn't take their work at the moment he took it all in and done NONE of it right. This kills all kinds of different companies every day. Too much growth too soon will kill any company even one with a good product. Either way Sal owes you 5,800 bones in my opinion. You gave your bike away just to get it out of your sight and I understand that. Sal be a man son and do what a reputable business man would do. MAKE IT RIGHT! Even if it's his vendors fault he took money from you and he owes you they owe him. Collecting from them is his problem, but it's most likely his fault for being sloppy with his assembly and not doing enough dry fit ups and the end result was failure. Most any build no matter how many times you have done the same build before requires several dry fit ups to measure everything up and make adjustments to the parts prior to final assembly. When you consider how many motors a factory assembles every day it becomes very impressive how good their reliability rate really is. And here Sal a self proclaimed professional couldn't even assemble ONE motor in 8 months time and make it last. Even if he claims user error that don't cut it here on a motor that died in 750 miles and never made what a BONE STOCK 12R would make with only bolt on parts and all that before the use of Less than ZERO oil and all the normal tricks like Brock is using today to extract every last once of power. A stock 12R in Brocks hands would probably make 185 easy and probably more.

Anyone could get that from a stock motor, My own 12R made 174 with only 600 miles on the clock without slick oil or being loosened up very well.. That was a disgrace

YES,very sad indeed...
Average Performance Gains: 21+mph in the 1/4 mile(quoted from www.aceperformance.com)
The best I got was 9.21@149mph,was told it would go in the 8.`s @ 158mph...17/51 gearing 185lb. rider...Not even close...

wow.... how are they going to tell you how much mph your going to gain or how fast you will go. every rider is different. Not saying you a bad rider idk I have never seen you ride, but still you cant tell how they will 60 foot ect unless it a full out bracket bike that runs the same as long as trouttle is pinned

Sal has plenty of excuses why plus it seems he has a tummy ache 24/7 that keeps him side lined quite a bit.. I don't believe I would have advertised that to my customers as a reason I can't get their motor done but he does

Paul,

Let’s be honest. You handed your multi-time blown-up motor to Sal in boxes of misc. parts. You paid him in payments to do the motor. You ran dismal ET’s on your stock motor. You changed the oil pan and pickup after you got the motor (knock, knock?). You couldn’t even reliably tell me what gear you were in when you went through the traps. You put 110 octane fuel in the motor for the dyno run, in a street motor, and the dyno operator chopped the throttle 1k rpm before the limiter, while power was still building.

I had your same motor setup, and it ran great mph at the dragstrip when it wasn't even set up. It ran side by side with a gen 2 busa on the street….and that gen 2 Busa had a skilled and very lightweight rider. Much more skilled and lightweight than me.

Now you won’t stop whining. …after nearly 2 years...of a damaged race motor that was probably broken by your own doing. And then, even sadder, you’ve got your buddy Timewarp gunning for Sal…based on faulty information. Hell, Timewarp is even posting false information about my motor...again, sad.. Paul, look in the mirror. Then you will see what is holding you and your bike(s) back.

Shane

Okay.....

Time for everybody to take a time-out........

I have the bike now and I'm going to get to the bottom of this. When I picked up the bike, Paul started it up for me and it sounded to me like a bad cam chain tensioner (could be wrong)
The plan is to get Sal's motor running like it should and put it in the bracket bike...hopefully Sal will give me the info needed to get this thing running right......

Stay tuned...I'll keep you all updated in a new thread I'll be posting up soon.

Later, Roy

Have you looked in the mirror Shane...Just don`t look lower than your neck...
I`m complaining about the way Sal put my motor together and everything that was wrong with it...That was dangerous and could have caused serious problems with the parts he left loose, not tight, not tuned right,,ect.ect.ect....
Good luck with the bike Roy..I hope it`s something simple to fix...I just could stand looking at the abortion of a build from ACE PERFORMANCE w/ SAL SPATAFORA.....
