- Fresh Competition CNC Ported ZX-14 Head -

This head has never been installed.

I sent out a spare cylinder head for some work. Jim at Competiton CNC provided the services:

This head was configured to get the most out of an otherwise stock engine. The mods are as follows:

1) High flow valve job with wider "nitrous cut" on the exhaust seat

A good valve job definitely will free up some hp. The seats are cut sligtly wider on the exhaust side of my setup, to allow for better heat dissipation while spraying nitrous.

2) Stage 2 CNC Port

The Stage 2 port will give up a little power down low, but make it up on top. However, with the increased compression due to the milling, I really won't be losing anything down low compared to the standard head.

3) .030 Flat Mill

There are a variety of milling options. My mill falls about in the middle. I will still get a significant gain in compression (should be around 13:1), but it is not quite as radical as the angle mill that they do for Supersport bikes. This also gives me a little room to resurface later, should the need arise.

4) Matched intake boots

Intake boots are hand-matched to the head, for optimum flow.

5) Shimmed Stock Springs

Jim also took the time to shim my stock valve springs for a little more pressure on the seat. Again, this setup is designed for stock cams. With stock cams you don't really need the huge seat pressures, and it will cost you some hp and also wear parts out more quickly.

New valve seals also installed.

$1000+SH outright. You can keep/sell your stock head. Install your cams and adjustable sprockets. PM me or email Shane at warp12racing dot com.

I just talked to Jim and he said this head should make more than their Supersport head, and that setup has made 210hp on MR12. All dyno's are different, but this head should really perform on a stock motor.
