ZX-12 Turbo Muzzy/ Doug Meyer
2002 ZX-12 B1 Vin # 001404 TURBO BIKE
This bike is running and COMPLETE EXCEPT for all bodywork including headlights.
History:
In 2002 Mike Corbin wanted to run a ZX-12 at Bonneville with a set of his Beetle Bags hard saddle bags attached, thereby creating "The World's Fastest Bagger".
Corbin supplied Muzzys with a new 2002 ZX-12 and paid Muzzys to build the bike.
The bike was run at Bonneville that year with me attending to it and ran 219mph on 11 pounds of boost, setting a record, putting the rider into the 200mph club, and achieving Corbin's goal, pretty much right off the trailer. After that run, the Innovative electronic boost control failed and since we had no spare and Corbin had other products to work on, the bike was withdrawn from further competition. I did the tear-down for the record cert., found the engine to be in perfect shape and reassembled it.
Corbin took the bike back to Hollister where it sat for some time. During that period, Corbin removed the bodywork to build a display for his showroom. Since I had expressed a desire to purchase it at Bonneville, they offered it to me and I purchased it 5 years ago
When originally built, Mike Corbin spent nearly $25,000 on this bike and this was at reduced "sponsorhip" pricing from Muzzys.
