battery box for zx12 swingarm
this is the battery box setup that was on my bike when i bought it. it's a bit beat up but still sturdy, it's mostly 1/8" steel and the welds are decent. It holds a car battery( H 8" W 6 3/4" D 7"). the tie-down is steel and holds very tight, you can lean the bike over without any issues. with the duralast battery(not included) in it it weighs 30 lbs. obviously this isn't gonna help you save weight but i figured theres some lsr or drag guy that can use this instead of lead or barbell weights in the swingarm. theres also a thin sheet metal "burnout sheild" that fits in a tab behind the box and bolts to the front undertail bolts. shipping oughta be under $20 so I figure $50 to tyd how can you go wrong? It is definantly unique and I can give you a ghetto schematic for the wiring(I'll even throw in the cables)

I don't know , it came with the bike. The guy was draggin it but he was more of a car and truck guy so I think his knowledge didn't quite apply to bikes. His thought was probably "put weight over the tire by moving the battery, similar to mounting the battery in the trunk of a car". It only weighs 30 lbs with the steel box and everything and I've seen guys run 60 lbs of lead in the swingarm at bonneville.

the guys that run on the salt dont use extensions. if they did, they would probly need 100 pounds not 60

true, I've seen some but even then they're only 3" at most, which ain't long enough to fit. this set-up is like the stupid drag strut that was also on my bike, it's practically useless for 99% of motorcycle applications. I just don't want it lying around and i don't want to trash it either
