1/5 THROTTLE INSERTS
My 1/5th throttle insert is my pride and joy. It is the engine that powered Double Z Racing into existence. To try one is to love one.
The 1/5th throttle insert reduces the standard factory stock throttle throw from 90’ or more in most cases to a crisp quick 72 degrees of rotation from idle to WOT. This is accomplished by increasing the “gear ratio” between the throttle grip and the Throttle Body / Carburater actuator but is much more reliable and easily accomplished then the “ghetto mod” epoxy build up or zip tie method.
Sit your bike, grip the throttle normally, looking forward in the normal riding position. Now twist to WOT… Elbow pointing at the ground? Wrist cranked back until the blood circulation is cut off? My insert fixes all that. All the power your engine has to offer is available in one smooth twist of your wrist.
Though the throttle is quicker it is still totally controllable and easy use on the street or for a track day. Unlike the factory race throttle kits that reduce the throw to 60 or less degrees of rotation, are difficult to maintain a constant speed with, and are nearly impossible to handle from a standing start. My 1/5th insert makes the bike feel more responsive, tighter, and more agile while retaining easy pilot throttle control.
The modification uses the stock cables, stock housing and stock grip so there is nothing else to buy and the factory asthetics are maintained. It is also totally reversible should you want to stunt the bike or allow a test drive. Once the installation has been performed, removal or reinstallation can be performed in a few minutes with a Phillips head screwdriver.
Get the throttle that should have come factory equipped, that your wrist will thank you for, that your bike was built to run. Get a 1/5th throttle and get going.
