Factory speedometer error can run as high as 10% on modern motorcycles. Add in a sprocket gearing change and it can throw the speedometer off by 15%. Not only will your speedometer be off, but the sprocket change will also cause higher odometer readings. Higher odometer readings can create a negative resale factor for no valid reason.
