Super Clean 1985 900 Ninja

Super Clean 1985 900 Ninja

This bike has been my passion for years. I have done so much to it, trying to restore it to mint condition.

I own the bike and have a clean title.
The engine has had its valves replaced and re-surfaced. It runs very very strong.
The carbs have been rebuilt and repainted. Look beautiful. New boots on both sides.
The Air Cleaner is brand new.
The tires are new, less than 3 mos driving.
The chain, and both front and back sprockets are new.
The clocks are very clean and without scratches. Milage shows 14,000, but I replaced them and have the old ones that show 39,000. (These are aproximate #'s, I can provide exact milage upon request).
The engine and its casings are clean, new looking, without leaks.
The hand controls are in extremely rare PERFECT condition, not faded by the sun and all labels readable.
The exhaust cans are without dents or scratches, but the left side has a little boot to clean off and shows where I cleaned too hard. Still looks pretty good.
The brakes, front and back, were replaced last year. Rotors are in great shape, not warped.
The battery is protected by an installed Trickle Charger that keeps it charged when not in use, so the bike fires up right away.

The only thing this bikes needs to improve it would be to replace the springs in front forks and rear shock. They're a little soft.

I can't say enough about the bike. I hate to let it go, but I must because I need the cash...

There is a lot if history with this bike. Those of you who know it will agree that this is truly one of Kawasaki's most historical classics.
It's a second year running of the original Ninja. It is the same bike as in the movie Top Gun, (though legend has it Tom Cruise was on a 750.)
This bike was world champion for 3 straight years.
This bike was so famous in England that it ran until 1997 and in Japan until 1999, though the US only got it through 1986. We got the 1000 in '86 and '87.
The bike was voted the "Classic Bike of the '80's".
In its day, it defeated all the 1000, 1100, and 1200 bikes in performance, defeating the Vmax in dragstrips and all other bikes on the track.
I have tons of old magazines and write-ups on it to back this up.
There's also a 25 Year Anniversery write-up in this month's Cycle World. Check it out!! Great article.

I can send tons of pics upon request!

Here are some pics. I have the complete plastics in Red/Grey, Black/Red, and Green/White. I was going to sell the bike in green as it would be easier to sell off the other plastics individually. Naturally I'd love to sell them all in one shot, but it wouldn't be cheap...
I'm asking $3500 for the bike in its green/white plastics. BTW, there is no damaged, scratched, or chipped plastics. However, one of the red side panels is missing its rear tab. That's as bad as it gets.

Hey Port_Angeles! I remember we talked about this last year when I was getting things painted. I wasn't sure how to reach you with the PM stuff down...

Straight to the mustard - $1100
and since you are in WA State, close to where my kids live, I'll deliver all pieces at no cost.

Here's the breakdown;

Tank - $450 - The tank is actually NOS. I've used it for about a year, then bought the black... It will come with a working Petco valve that does not leak. I get them mixed up, but I think the one on the red tank, though brand new, seemed to have trouble lasting long using the reserve side.
Top Fairing - $200 - The fairing is repaired around the lights and repainted to match the tank better than before.
Center Fairing - $200 - Is in great condition
Bottom Fairing - $125 - Recently repainted with the Top Fairing to get a closer match to the tank. No cracks or damages.
Side Fairings - $50 - I am pricing these down because the left side is missing its rear tab and it wasn't painted by me, so the red doesn't match as well as I'd like. BTW, I do have the stickers for it, (if I can find them), and I'd throw them in with it so you could repaint it or another some day.
Tail Piece - $75 - I have two tail pieces, one is NOS, never installed yet, and the other, (seen in the pics), has one broken peg that I glued. I am not charging for that one. The only thing that needs to be brought out is the Kawasaki Mark needs to be purchased. I can get one for you from Bike Bandit. They cost $11.

Here's some pics at my site.

... Keep changing the name of the jpg for up to 14 pics, ie http://www.scgtech.com/ninja/14.JPG

These pics are before I painted the top and bottom fairings. To me, they looked more like tomato soup and less like fire... They look real nice now, but not a 100% match of red.
