This is from a post a while back by Y2K12R down near the bottom of the page: http://www.bikeland.org/board/viewthread.php?FID=1&TID=20929&pagenumber=4

"Some modifications are needed to mount the Walbro gss242/gss307 pumps in the fuel pump chassis. Nothing major. Order the pump and kit for a buick grand national turbo.
The upper hoop bracket needs to be fliped over and mirror bent. It has an offset to one side and has to be offset to the oppisite side.
The rubber seat under the pump inlet needs to be cut with a new sharp razor to about 1/4" thick.
Slice a 4" piece of 3/8" fuel line down length wise and bend it backwards around the pump under a band clamp. trim off the excess band clamp to about 1-1/4" long and after everything is seccured in place bend the extra strap back over the adjusting screw and secure it with safety wire so the band clamp screw cant loosten up from the pump vibration.
Trim the new supplied "s bend" hose to length and use the spring clamps (2 each end) to seccure.
Make sure to solder the ring connectors onto the wires and put the wire shielding back over the wires."

just an fyi. my 1287 didnt need a bigger pump. it was actually running rich enough(accidently) for a small dry kit. easily fine for a 30 shot with some high 20s in the map
are you running a big dry kit Tom? (cant remember)
tons of useful info in Jims ZX-14R thread. I would advise anyone to read the whole thing

DRY SHOT

YES SCOTT I'M USING A 40 JET AND I HAVE A DYNOJET WIDEBAND COMMANDER AND I WAS TUNING WITH IT ON SPRAY AND I HAD TO ADD A TON OF FUEL AND I WAS STILL IN THE LOWER TO MID 13 I WOULD FEEL A LOT SAFER WITH A 12.6 OR SO AIR FUEL, AND WITH WHAT I'M GETTING DONE TO HEAD AND THE CAMS I'M THINKING I'M GONNA NEED MORE FUEL ON MOTOR ALSO. I WANNA STICK MY SKINNY FRIEND ON AGAIN AND SEE IF HE CAN RUN A 8.50 OR 8.60 HE ALREADY WENT 8.80 WITH JUST THE 40 JET. GRANTED I COULD BE WRONG DON'THAVE ALL THE ANSWERS, ALWAYS WELCOME IDEAS IN CASE I'M MISSING SOMETHING. IT'S STILL NICE TO SEE I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE THAT IS STILL RUNNING HIS OR HER DINOSAUR.

SCOTT I JUST WAS LOOKING AT MY LAST MAP AND I WAS ONLY IN THE MIDDLE TWENTIES SO I NOT MAXING OUT THE FUEL PUMP YET? ON MY TURBO CAR I MADE THE MISTAKE OF DEPENDING ON FUEL PUMP PRESSURE TOO MUCH AND LEANED OUT A CYLINDER, NEVER MADE THAT MISTAKE AGAIN. YOU WOULD HAPPEN TO HAVE A MOTOR MAP SO I COULD COMPARE AND SEE HOW DIFFERENT WE ARE?

I think you can go to 45s in the map but thats pretty much the limit of the pump and hard on injectors (maxed out duty cycle). personally i wouldnt put bigger than 40s in it, but other guys have used 45s.
im going with a big progressive wet kit for next yr so im keeping the stock pump. if i was going huge on a dry shot i would get the Walbro gss242(the Muzzy pump is way over kill and takes more power to run), but you may be fine without it. its hard to say how much the motor work will affect your fuel requirements. wont know unless you try it.
this was the latest NA motor map i made. i didnt get to try it however. i used data logs from another race and a fuel trim table to make it. i tried to set it up for 12.6:1 AFR based on the table and old log files. it should be pretty close. Ill know in the spring.

trim table
