I have a 2003 with 6400 miles. $2000 for the kit. Thats wiring, ecu, throttle bodies, etc. Drill and tap the head motor mount bolts and different cam pick up and it will fit and run in your bike.

The 2002 up has address some problems of the 2000 and 2001.
Look around you'll find several 2000 and 2001 bikes in need of motors.
Given a choice, I'd take the 2002+ engine everytime.
Take madmike up on the cam pickup and you have the best of both worlds.
look and reliability.
