4.6mm crank for ZX12
4.6mm crank for ZX12, beautiful shape, just sitting on the shelf...
I now use an offset stroker crank in my 1427 (to match offset bores), so this one is surplus.
$600 incl shipping.
PM me if you want it.
Karl
I store the crank double wrapped in garbage bags and coated with reline assembly lube + oil (in case you are wondering about the red here n there)

Karl,
Who did the crank for you? What size motor would that make with a 1287 bore kit?

you will get about 1394 with this crank.
here is it's history; i keep track of this stuff (cause i have CRS)
jan 31, 2005 - new 4.6mm crank from Muzzy
jun 10, 2005 - #4 rod bearing went (oil pickup uncovering upon launch)
jun 14, 2005 - sent crank to Marine Crankshaft for repair
jul 14, 2005 - back from Marine, David says "good as new"
jun 2, 2006 - built the motor w/offset stroker crank; packed this crank in oil, put on shelf
oct 17, 2006 - offset crank making ticking sound, pulled motor down
oct19, 2006 - installed this non-offset crank for Texas Mile
nov18, 2006 - pulled the non offset, replaced with offset (solved the "ticking" issue)
next: this crank is perfect, I don't need it; sell it

Will this crank work in a stock motor? What will it bump the displacement to?

Mark,
I am very sure it will work with stock cyl; gives 1299cc.
It would be an awesome (and cheap) power adder.
DO IT, i will give you a special deal

1299 using the stock components and only changing this?
Karl, you are messing with my mind and the Texas Mile is coming.
Can the bike be use as a daily driver after this?

Geraldo,
I don't know anyone who has done a stroked, OEM bore 12, but it would seem to be a good set up.
The stroked crank requires that you do a lil clearancing in the cases no big deal.
If you keep stock rods, i don't think you need to clearance the starter clutch like you need to do with Carrillos.
If I were you i wouldn't do it before the Oct Mile, but it would be a cool, cheap project to do between the Oct Mi and the Mar Mile.
I'd prob even build yr motor for you for a song, just cause i am curious about how it would run.
BTW: in any event Park has 1st dibs until i find out how much to ship it to Singapore and he says yea, or nay.

I have a guy looking to buy my bike. If he doesn't buy it I will be willing to buy the crank and start the experiment after The Texas Mile. What do you think? Just let me know what else I need. Defenetly I'll be doing the tranny since we are going to be down there. Let me know what else I need so I can start thinking of ways to justify this to the wife LOL.
Take care.

G
why not start a thread asking about a stock bore stroker? Get some input from others?
BTW: I wouldn't touch the tranny unless it's doing odd stuff (like popping outa gear.
