FS: Marchesini wheels (cast magnesium)

Marchesini Rims (ZX-12R) - Cast magnesium, powder coated gloss black. Comes with all spacers, the hub that bolts to the rear brake rotor, a stock 12R brake rotor (already bolted to the hub). Cush drive, cush pads, Sprocket Specialist's hardened steel 46t sprocket (stock 12R sprockets don't fit).

I talked to a couple people about these wheels, one person found a deal on some other rims, the others I can't find your emails/PMs.

After I took the rims off the bike, I took them into town to have the tires taken off. In the process, the place put a big ole chip in the powder coat of the rear wheel. The rear wheel was RE-powder coated the same gloss black. Also, because they had to remove the rear bearings, I had them install brand new rear bearings.

You'll notice in the picture that the rear wheel does not have the "MARCHESINI" sticker on the edge of the rim. It's just a sticker, I bought some on Ebay a few years ago for like $5. The front stickers are in ok shape, but I'd probably change them out to match the rear.

These are 12R wheels. Might fit other bikes, I'm not sure.

$1150 + shipping.

Since the question was brought up...

The front wheel, without the rotors on it, weighs right around 7lbs.
The rear wheel, with cush and rotor, weighs about 12lbs.

All on my bathroom scale, which seems to agree with the published weights for the wheels (cast magnesium).

Sounds about right, inline with my 6.5 front and 11.5 rear dymags....mine were completely empty...did your wheels have bearings in them? That would make the difference....then again we're not using 'Hi Tech" scales either!

Another couple of questions raised recently. If anyone else is curious.

Q - What "model" are the wheels ?
A - I'm not sure. All the info I could find on them just stated "Marchesini cast magnesium 5 spoke".

http://www.marchesiniwheels.com/ENG/Racing/racingproductline.htm

Nice article comparing aftermarket wheel weights.
http://www.rc51.org/wheel.htm

Q - What was the year of manufacture ?
A - The only markings on the wheels at all is "01 01" stamped into the cush drive section of the rear wheel. Maybe indicates 2001?

I bought the bike with the wheels on it, in May 2004 from JimP (a member here). After some searching on this site, it appears that Jim bought the wheels brand new in Feb 2002 from TAW. So a 2001 manufacture date sounds correct.

This is a pic of the bike from when Jim owned it.

Other pics from after I bought it from him. Wheels visible in most pics.

Krissten on bike.

Deal's Gap VII about 3 days after buying it from Jim.

Drag racing at Gainesville. Stock rim on the back with a Shinko. Only made a few passes with the rear Marchesini.

I'm not 100% certain on the sprocket pattern. I only used the one sprocket, and that came with the bike/wheels when I bought it.

I've had atleast EIGHT people email or PM me about these. All saying something like "serious buyer, cash in hand, etc...". ALL of them will ask about shipping from me (85629) to them, which has run right around $45 to pretty much anywhere in the continental US. Then, NO replies after that.
