For Sale: 2002 Yamaha R1 with 3k miles
2002 Yamaha R1 with a lil over 3000 miles on the engine, runs perfect, salvage title, was laid down and needs some work to make perfect again which is...
Damage: needs new rear tail section (plastics), front plastics and gas tank have some scratches but are not broken, needs a new rear rim (~$150), new subframe ($50), oil cover is scratched up, swingarm has some minor scratches nothing major...
If you want to make this strictly a track bike, then the plastics are no big deal. I would recommend putting on some race plastics from Sharkskinz or Hotbodiesracing, and make the tail section a solo seat setup. Things like the front plastics, the rear seat, the headlights, etc can be sold off if that is the route for the bike.
The bike's plastics were painted flat black before being laid down. The bike had full frame and swingarm sliders, and the engine, frame, forks, etc are all perfect. Mainly its just the minor cosmetic in plastics, and definitely a new subframe and rear rim. We estimate $600-800 to repair the damages, just depending on if you do it yourself.
The bike's title is a salvage title and I am asking $4500 or best offer.
If shipping can be arranged, then that is fine. Otherwise, I am located in WA state in the PacNW, so I am willing to drive a reasonable distance to drop the bike off.
