quote: LOL All the crying! You feel let down and haven't even layed eyes on the real bike or rode it! What a joke! I can see many have never built or rode a bike that's been stroked and compaired it to the original. You got a 1441cc bike for 2012 people! WTF you want? a 300HP 1600cc prostock motor? Kawi stepped up big time and gave the new bike a 4mm stroke, which I thought would NEVER happen!!!!
i think your forgetting the $15,000.00 +ttl price tag for a 4mm stroke ..WOW .. For $17,000.00 somebody gonna be on their knees and it ain't me ..

how much would it cost to buy a brand new 2011 which is 1100.00 dollars less and make it a 4mm stroker with longer/stronger rods with more compression and new cam profile with more lift and duration.??

Upgrades cost. What's it going to cost ya to stroke any of the previous year bikes after ya buy it. $2K to $3K just in parts and its still not going to be as strong as this new motor should be. Don't like the $15k price tag either but if you want the Mac Daddy you have to pay.

4mm crank $1000
Rods $900
Pistons $700
Cams $1050
Valve Springs $150
Bearings/Gaskets/Misc $200+
Throw in some headwork and a valve job $1000. Then put it all together yourself...that's "free", right? Also, don't forget that on a Gen1 14 you will be losing a set of rings with the 4mm stroke, and the rods are probably shorter, which is going to be less reliable.
I'll take the factory 1441.

Ok , I have to ask. If you had to pick. Gen 1 with a Chris Jones Turbo or New 2012 what you pick for the track ? Gen one will be lighter & Faster based on current info, so,,,,,,, 5000 or 15,000 ?????????
If you just bought a newer bike the Rush is off. We now have to give it some thought. No longer is the decision making process a no brainer. 220hp & lighter would have been a race to the store. No ?
I'm hoping a ECU Mod, flies out or something like what is Done on the ZX-10 is hiding and we have yet to learn of it. 10 hp seems low. My fingers are still crossed.
Guys please don't think shitting on this wicked New Bike, but yes I wanted more. Yes I'm getting one but the Questions are still valid.

So Romans why are you buying a new 14R right off the bat when you have doubts about its performance being enough for you? You have a turbo first gen thats going to crush the new 14 anyway? Its not like the bikes are only going to be sold for a limited time lol. And I'm sure you know you'll be paying the most for the new bike right at release? Wheelie and some other guys are getting the new 14 as soon as their out also, but they also seem like somebodies got a gun to their heads to make them do it...not sure about the reasoning there?

Easy one to answer; I'm sure you've heard the saying "your street bike is your street bike and your race bike is race bike. Which is what I'm working towards on this turbo 14. Still have a few lose Ends to tie up But am loving the boost. Lots of fun. 8000k and still brings a smile lol.
Winter is fast approaching here so I can wait, but I was not going to. I sold my 2007 2 weeks ago in anticipation of this new 14 but the 7hp at the crank # stopped me dead in my tracks . Can't be right .I've watched all the vids. Got to be allot more ???? Roaring Toys has posted pics of the new bike dressed out, one of these guys must have some #'s 4 us off the Dyno. How could they resist ?

The Gen 2 Hayabusa went in the 8's 4 years ago with just bolt on's stock wheelbase. According to Brock it was the first production stock bike in the 8's with bolt on's only.
