ZX-14 vs Busa - in a roll, which of the top guns takes the 'W' - 2 part

Here is the first part: http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=JAEBzpanGPs

Second with different ending: http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=vFFpwxv0Caw

The Hayabusa and the ZX-14 are so close in performance, small changes make a big difference.

These two runs were done within minutes of each other with the exact same machinery. The only thing that changed was the rider on the Kawasaki.

Wow that was stupid...somebody laid a camera, in the road of 3 bikes racing. I would have beaten the brakes off that guy. Plus i was waiting on the camera bike in the middle to clip the guy on the 14...i guess if he wasn't so damn close to that guy he would have been the one to run over the camera laying in the road. All this still proves nothing....you need the same size rider with the same experance kicking it at the same time both with a tight tuck. I still don't understand what the big deal is compairing these two bikes...

Like I thought, the rider in the first vid was a bit afraid of the power and not completely in it. Once you got onboard, things changed quick! Been in enough street races to know that 50lbs difference doesnt make THAT large a gap difference, over half of that was simply rider skill. Good showing and good vid! Want to host a couple of mine that I can't have associated to me? Washington State passed a new law about vids like mine and yours... only has to "appear" to be illegal to be prosecuted for it after the fact. PM if interested. "aZX14blurr" is me on YouTube.

cut n paste from YouTube is all you have to do. Look to the right of the video, it says "Imbed" and "link" which you simply RIGHT click on with one click to highlight n hit "copy" option.

I do.... and it would leave your 14 so far behind, you'll end up back in the 90's. =)

I just did some roll ons from about 4k in 1st through the middle of 4th friday night with an 08 busa. We're the same size and same skill from a roll " which as far as I'm concerned takes very little skill since you're just tucking and shifting". His bike has a full yosh, pc3, and k&n. Mine has lowering bones on the second hole, and the flies removed. He got the jump, and I immediately caught him and pulled him by about 5 feet in every gear. Given his bike is still loosening up (2500 miles on it) and mine just turned over 9,000. Not all bikes are created equal, and I broke mine in pretty hard.

1st race rider error - poor bike has to overcome wind resistance + the weight difference.
2nd race was clean = glad no one got hurt with the unexpected camera laying tin the middle of the road. Excellent footage.

Smokin, you're changing the game. The vid consists of roll-ons from an agreed upon low speed up top until its obvious who won. We stayed in it till over 200 mph. I can see by your sig you are quick, a mutual buddy of ours has already vouched for your riding, however this is top end riding, not just a short 1/8 or 1/4. More than likely your first time out you would run short of your potential because your set-up may not be optimal. Motor for motor at, say, the 9/10ths, my money would be on Phantom, not you. Until you do it you don't know if your gearing is wrong, your mapping isn't perfect..hell maybe your bike tankslaps at 193.9 on GPS, etc. Phantom was merely sticking up for the ZX-12 moniker, which the 14 is indebted to in the first place. NinjaNick jokingly poked fun at the 12 and Phantom came in to defend it. Same here, I enjoy topping them out and so far, from what my eyes have seen in the REAL WORLD, UP TOP they are really not that far apart when you let them off the leash and let them rip deep in 6th. That says quite a bit considering their 150+cc difference, but I digress.

a Mustang GT and a VW Jetta aren't that far apart on the big end either. The difference being how far it takes each to get there. You want to make it a real race, run them from a dead stop to the top end like the standing mile races that you compete in. That's where things get interesting.

I'm a big fan of standing start runs, but I think FullTilt realizes that

1) Traction is a big issue with high HP cars and stretched bikes

2) Its easier on clutches

3) It somewhat simulates running someone on the highway where many times these types of speeds are encountered.

From a dig most of the cars get roasted bad on the streets when running against fairly competent riders who don't have a long wheelbase or too much HP....whatever "too much HP" means ;-) I've done it to several 700-800 RWHP supras & vettes...I have to start from higher speeds like 70-80....I try and convince them to start from 140 or so so there is no excuse on their end in terms of traction...then they just sorta look at me funny.
