First ride on 08 busa...hmmm
I just took a ride on my buds 08 busa. Not quite what I was expecting. It pulls hard down low.....but seemed to fade off a little in the upper rpm's. And it wasn't quite as quick as I expected. Its fast for sure, but from what I've read I expected it to be freaky fast. My buds 07 10 with a slip-on feels just as fast. And my piped 1000R feels close. It did handle well for a big bike...felt kinda heavy sitting on it, but much lighter once you're moving. Nice brakes too. Its not as comfy as I thought it would be either tho. And its kinda vibey....I thought it was supposed to be smooth as silk? Overall its a nice bike.....just not my style.

lets hear more mj
been thinking about zx-14 or busa. currently own a 2002 gsxr1000 and love to corner hard and occasionally loft the front. your review got my interest. not sure if i would be giving up too much for the comfort of a busa or zx-14, for the agility of the gsxr. i am 61 years old and feel the pain of a full on sportbike is getting too much. interested on your feeling of the improvement i would get if i traded up to a new liter bike gixxer,r1,zx-10,1000rr versus my 02 gsxr 1000. is it a little improvement every where, or it an eye opener. have you ridden a zx-14. had a 1990 zx-11, which was fast but heavy. thanks for any input

If you have bad knee's or back, or wrists, a busa or zx14 will fit the bill much better than a literbike.
A new literbike or big bike will be an eye opener over your 2002!
Power to weight ratio has improved substantially on all of them.
Hope I'm still riding nasty machines at 61 !
Kudo's and Congrats!

Dubes right.....the busa or 14 will be a much better fit for you than a liter from what you describe. The 14 is hands down the most comfy sportbike I've ever ridden..is faster than hell...and handles and feels alot lighter than you'd expect. And its a HUGE step up comfort wise from any other sportbike out there next would be the busa...then the liters.

I've rode the '08 Busa with a pipe/PC and with stock exhausts. The pipe/PC makes a HUGE difference, because I liked the 14 better than the Busa in STOCK form and I have rode a Busa for the last 8 years.

I can see those huge exhausts on the 08 busa killing some power for sure. I imagine dumping the cats and all that weight plus the extra ponies would wake it up nicely
I know pulling the flies and remapping/piping a 14 makes a HUGE diff
