2008 Hayabusa MPG ,Cornering vs zx-14

Wanted to ask people who have the '08 hayabusa

a) in terms of MPG -- how much are you getting
in 'A' mode and 'C'. Can I make an assumption that in 'C' mode
I will get at least 40 mpg of easy driving (city)

and how does the MPG compare to the new (or older) zx-14?

b) My second question is about cornering/frame flex and
braking, compared to the zx-14. Does hayabusa feel heavier,
with more flex and less stopping power, or are they very similar

c) IN terms of generated heat from the bike in normal driving (city)
is busa cooler than the zx-14 ('08) (my understanding from readings
was that zx-14 was running a bit hot in city driving -- and I am in S Fl,
so this is important to me)

d) am I correct in assuming that Hayabusa does not have an
option of ABS (and does not plan to ) -- but the ZX-14 does

thanks in advance

I think either bike is excellent. Different people have different
needs. So I am just trying to use the expertiese on this
forums to help me to make the choice
(but it seems to be difficult to get people to help me here,
may be because my questions require the actual experience
and are not around the 1/4 mile achievements)

I am looking to spend 13K on
a commuter bike with the 'bragging rights'

so I am looking for

a) low maintanence
b) good gas mileadge (40 mpg or above)
c) good wind protection
d) good heat management -- for a muggy south-fl daily commute
e) paing scheme and lights that aid on-the-road visibility (this is critical)
f) option of Antilock-brakes
g) I want to attend bike school (here at Moroso they are offered once in
a while) -- so I want my bike to be a comparatively easy to handle
at a road course.

I have had the pleasure of riding Suzuki sv 650S and Honda magna vfr 750cc
I like both of them. But I am looking for the bragging rights bike now :-)
(I know that this parameter is the least logical and I do not particular
fault myself for that :-) )

I have considered other bikes (Ducati, BMW, Yamaha FJR) -- but eliminated
them because they do not have the 'bragging rights of the ZX-14 and the
Hayabusa (although I clearly understand that some of them, and other offerings
from suzuki and kawasaki are much better 'commuter' bikes)

Yep, moving to another forum... :-) (well actually I subscribed to a couple of motorcycle
mags to get me filled with usefull info)

I am thinking to get a used bike for track days and still ride what I have on
the street.

I did not expect Ii would some great advise and a free psychological profile, so thank you.

I signed up a while back when riding suzuki SV 650S -- that's where the screen name
came from.

Good grief. Some of your questions don't interest me but I am curious about how the Suzuki watchamacalit switch that converts the Hayabusa into my old FJ 1200 at the click of the switch effects gas mileage. In fighting my way thru the flames, I don't see much in the way of answers to your questions.

I've got 141,000 miles or so on my '89 FJ and am looking for a replacement. I can usually get about 50 MPG out of that. Although 35 MPG would certainly be better than my cages, I'm curious what I'd get at my riding style. Also I wonder if the sissy switch would improve MPG when I'm not interested in cranking it on.

Whyever would I be interested in MPG on this kind of bike?
I'm an old geezer.
I'm cheap; I'm already taking a hit on insurance if I buy this thing.
Oil supplies will run out someday.
I'm a commuter and I will take the gas money I save and spend it on gas for just riding around (so much for conservation).
The oil companies are taking advantage of us and I like passing them by on a high mileage vehicle that will outperform anything parked there filling up.

yet another worthless reply...

90vtwin
If you still bother to read this forum, generally, people that respond with insults, such as "tool...uh..."man"?" (he gives old meaning to the term flammer), dont have the knowledge or experience to answer your question in any other way. they feel that if they try to make you look stupid it will distract from their own stupidity. it's a......duhhhhhhh.....defense mechanism!
anyway, there are many other forums out there with members that actually own bikes and ride them.
magazines are in business to sell stuff for their advertisers so take any info you read with a grain of salt.
there has to be a place close by you that serves as a kinda "hangout" for motorcylists, every place i've ever lived has had at least one. i'm sure if you spend much time at your local track you can pick up a lot of useful info there too. just ask the people that actually ride the bikes youre interested in, however you'll have a hard time finding someone that has both bikes and can compare one against the other.
try lynxpowersports.com or one of the many sportbike rental options in FL and get some "hands on".
unfortunately you wont get anything worth while from this forum.
as for my advice, put your money into a Roth IRA. good luck.
