Where are the discounts? Your prices are on avg with the rest of the folks except theses (porttechheads.com/page1.aspx). They charge 710.00. They have done alot of zx14 and busa heads. So, with that being said, were's the discount?

Sorry, it was untill the end of December.
Thanks Dave... You need a turbo.... Then you wont need a ported head... just shove it in.
And its cheeper than buying the new 10r.
Or you could get a Honda

How is that "Boneville" head coming???
Ryan is just about to shoot me out some of his little 445/415 Web Cams that'll need to drop into a 1600+cc busa this summer. (He must have some real monster ones to get rid of these)
Was curious if you handle and instal Ti-valves in any special manner and what the price range would be for them each?
Also curious if you do the epoxy thing to the head, and if a ceramic coat were laid on top would it affect the epoxy's integrity?
Thank you much,
Gary

The Stage 3 head, "bonnie" is designed and I'm going to send one to Ryan for testing soon.
We use Ti valves all the time in many applications. We are a Kibble White, Ferrea, and several other companies, so we can get anything. Give us a call for pricing..... theres so many. Yes there are special considerations when using TI valves that have to be planned for and set up properly for them to last.
We epoxy heads quite often. Sometimes for repairs, sometimes for port flow modifications.
We also use coatings a lot. We use diferent coatings on bearings, piston skirts, piston domes, valve stems, valve seat faces, valve chamber faces, combustion chambers, rings, ring groves, connecting rods, blocks, oil pump gears, bushings, fuel pumps, headers, manifolds .... you name it.
We build a ton of vintage road racing engines for the european and US markets. Mostly for old original A/C Cobras and shelbys. They are limited to using old mid 60's factory iron heads, blocks etc. To be competive they need every trick in the book. These engines use coatings on everything and use the best of the best components. Money is no object, they want to win. I cant say exactly what the total combination of all the coatings are worth HP wise but, the 289's will make in excess of 500 HP with factory iron heads. They are dry sump engines with CNC Ported heads spinning at "very, very high" rpms and cost from $15,000-$45,000. But these guys want to win, and they win a lot. These engines are racing on a regular basis in 8 countries in Europe and the USA.
As far as pricing... it depends on the size of the part and the type of coating. There are many types of coatings for many purposes.
I've discussed this with Ryan and If he wants to discuss the details of his engine and build we could make a new thread for it on here.
But I'm planning on Ryans bike to do very well this year.

Oh....... price wize, I was just curious on the price of an individual Ti-valve.
Any one valve maker (kibble White vs Ferrea) you listed that you feel is better
than the other?

We use both KW and Ferrea regularly.
The black diamond valves rom KW have a coating on the stem to reduce wear.
I 've seen both fail due to varrious reasons, but not the valves fault.
I cant say that one is better than the other. Maybe some other guys on here have more of a preference...? We stock both and i sell what ever the customer wants.

The Stage I head was to have been tested and evaluated at the opening AMA ProStar event at Valdosta, but the engine was discovered to have rod bearing issues due to a clogged oil pick-up. As a matter of interest, though, Jason Angella made several passes on the 60" 1397 and ran in the upper 8's with a 1/8th speed of 129...........but the 1/4 speed was simply not there. When the oil pressure warning light came on, Jason quickly shut-down the bike.
On another note, Bryan went to Valdosta to deliver to Jason a brand new GSXR1000 which had been "super sported"; from there, the bike was to be shipped to Aruba. At the last minute, Kenny Poppell, whose bike was down, entered the 1000 in the ProStar Super Sport class and during qualifications ran an 8.9 and qualified second and finished second. Not bad for a street bike with a few track adjustments.
In early April we will go to Norwalk, Ohio to resume testing on the Stage I head using the same 60" 1397 Hayabusa. We know Norwalk to be a fast track and Sonnny........our rider....is very familiar with the track and its personality. We have gone very fast at this track and our expectations are high.
