i heard it has had a complex all 7 of it's years for looking like a turd.......soooo now it throws it's looks to the zx14 so it can look like a zx12 when the new one comes out......it will 1 up the 14 when it comes out only to lose it forever the next year when the 14 will be revamped.kawasaki will not play second fiddle when it comes to the all out baddest production bike.i wipped them like red headed step childs over and over. sure is fun.

As much as I hope that Kawi will be able to stay ahead of the new 'busa, I just don't see it happening all that quickly. Let's see, how many years did Kawi sit on the ZX-11 before producing a way better super-sport touring bike. As far as I'm concerned, the ZZR1200 doesn't qualify as "way better", and the ZX-12R doesn't really fit well into the category of super-sport tourer, so that makes it something like 15 years after the introduction of the ZX-11 until the ZX-14 came out. Now people think that Kawi is going to find a bunch-o-new horsepower in 2008 after the 2007 'busa is released?? Doubtful.

ZX-11 in 1990 -> ZX-14 in 2006

GSX1300R in 1999 -> GSR1500R in 2007

ZX-15 in 2008???!?!?! Never gonna happen... sorry. Not nearly enough time to recoup the R&D money spent on the '14 in only 2 years.

Oh, and for all of you guys that think Kawi is going to warm-over the ZX-14 to make a more powerful version without other substantial changes, that ain't gonna happen either. This isn't the high-turnover 600 or 1000cc class where guys MUST replace their bike every year or two to stay "on top of the heap".

zermatt - the only thing that is keeping me from getting a zx-14 right now is that i think something better will come out in the next year or two. by better, i mean a bigger engine, better brakes, better suspension, better looks. maybe kawasaki will revise the zx-14, i know that they did several times with the zx-12r- each year was different.
i only want a zx-14 cuz i know it would be reliable and that i could put lots of miles on it- ive already got a racing bike.

I know they made revisions to the 12R, but were they significant? I mean what else would they do to the brakes or the suspension of the 14? They have already put everything current/modern on it without going with all-out racing Ohlins & Brembo equipment...

I'm agree with you that it would be *nice* for Kawi and Suz to make significant changes to these big bruiser bikes every two years like the liter bikes, but there just isn't as much money in it, nor is there a racing class anywhere near these bikes to support the development. That's the 10's game.

bet on a 1397cc busa with the same engine just bored and stroked... And some minor cosmetic differences. Won't cost them a dime in development as the 1397 is tried and proven already as an aftermarket option.

There is already a Suzuki 6 cylinder Concept bike on the cards, so the new Busa might as well get the same. I will be very surprised if they dont do anything about the Kawasaki overtaking the Busa with their ZX 14. Money apart once you are in the limelight and claim to have the fastest production bike you just can't sit there, let a competitor zoom past you and do nothing about it ... would you?
This is exactly why I am predicting the new Busa would come to atleast the 1500cc Mark.

Another fact to back this up is that they haven't changed the Busa from the time GSX 1300 R was released for the past 2-3 years except for the cosmetic face lift so I suspect they are saving their best for a real big one. Now that a competitor has edged past them, this will only give them even more reason to do so. I cant wait to see how the new Busa will look like. I already have a Busa, I wont mind trading it in for a new one if it is going have what I suspect it would.

All you Kawasaki fans it took almost a decade to overtake the Busa now that it has it wont be a lasting lead. A 6 cylinder monster is on the card waiting to gobble up the competition lol. Have a nice day

Will you listen to this extra dumb ass kid. First of all, for suzuki to have to buid a six cylinder busa to beat the 14 is a freaking insult. I'm sure that they will build a monster. Now will it beat the 14? Who knows. that's the beauty of it. On another note, it did not take damn near a decade to beat the busa. The only bike put out to try to beat it was the 12 and they were neck and neck in the comparison. They only tried once and just continued to produce this bike. The very next bike they put out was the busa killer itself, the zx14 and it has proven itself to be the champ for now so give props where props are deserved you fucking dick head. We did while the busa was on top. :ASS

You have absolutely no clue what you're talking about..."2-3 years except for the cosmetic face lift"? What cosmetic face lift are you talking about....I've owned a 99 and a 2004 and there are no differences cosmetically speaking...do you even own a Busa, have you ever owned one? I know you say you do, but I highly doubt it. You don't seem to know the 1st thing about a Busa. Did you by some small chance know that they were released in 99...and not just in the past 2-3 years?

You have "facts" to back this up you say? Show me the facts please and show me the cosmetic facelift you claim they made in the past 2-3 years...besides color/paint/decal changes, which are NOT cosmetic facelifts...

Yeah, I guess I got my hopes up about the 21st for no reason. Thanks Superman. The 24th, 25th, and 26th are supposed to be the show. They say they usually show the new bikes on the second day of the show on the website so maybe we'll see something on the 25th.
