I’m Back!

So I’m a long time user of this forum, but it’s been over 10 years since I’ve posted. I used to be on here pretty much daily learning what mod to make next on my 2007 zx14, and I basically built that bike based on what I learned on this site. I always knew what was my next step in the build. Well that’s what brings me back. I’m ready to get another bike, I’m probably just having a mid-life crisis but it is what it is. Bottom line-I want a new bike but after 10 years gone I have some catching up to do to say the least!! So I still see some familiar names “Smoking” being one that stands out 😊 as we had spoke several times. So I’ll get to it—previously I had 2007 zx14, Brock’s sidewinder, 6” over, lowered,strapped, muzzy nos/shifter combo, billet clutch, drag catalyst seat, old school pc, and loved the bike! I’m down south and near sea level so even with me at 200 lbs 8.80’s at 160 was fun. Now as for today I want a new bike, to start a new build, I’m never considered 1000 cc bikes before due to my weight, I was always under the impression if your a 200lb + rider its a 14 or busa (higher torque) unless you were putting a turbo on. Since I’m 6’ I always felt huge on the liter bikes, the 14 just fit me better. Back to the point I’m not seeing the new bike builds like I seemed to 10+ years ago here, so many post are still the 2008-16 bikes. It’s there a reason for that? Also we now have the supercharged option on a liter bike at a similar starting price point, z H2 19kish vs zx14 at what 17k? I want a bike that’s everything I had before but plan to go faster if even not right away but room to grow so to speak. For economic builds at least for a starter bike extensions are cheap and fast and looks like a guy can be at 230hp +\- with either the z h2 or 14 pretty easy, but stock internals seem tapped out shorty past there on the z h2, and I’m not opposed to a mild turbo on the 14 at some point which I think I can safely be at 275ish? 300? On it right? As I want to be back into the 8’s easily and even maybe mid to low at some point(the room to grow thing) now I would start with a used bike if I felt I could get one that was kept as mine was but it just worries me. So what to do? Aesthetics of the 14 are far more attractive to me than the naked h2 but if it was the simplest choice to be into the 8’s with ease and reliability then I’d consider it….man I know this is getting long but I’m looking to those of that are current with modded drag bikes to point me in the right direction please! What do I do? New 14, used 14, or naked h2? Is there something with all the electronics , ie traction control, ABS that complicates the new bikes? I mean I’ve seen some turbo builds on new bikes like Moore’s HyperBusa that still retained those functions, idk ,The bike would be both street/strip use at lease at first. I hope this isn’t too much but I reached out and wrote it anyway. Thanks in advance for any help.

Fish what happened to this forum? As I now see it hasn’t had the activity it had 10 years ago in quite some time.😞 where has everyone gone?
