Balancing TB's on a 2013 ZX14R Gen II
Hi folks, I hope you're all well.....Quick question - how the hell do you balance the TB's on this bike? We hooked up the vacuum gauges and attempted to balance the system however no matter how many turns we added or subtracted to the individual TB 'air screw' adjusters, nothing changed vacuum wise? Now that said every other bike I own (including my Muzzy 1270) can be easily adjusted with the vacuum guages and the air throttle plate 'by-pass' screw adjustment. Is it possible this bike's ECU is over riding the TB balance in the same way that it does the idle? You can not adjust a Gen 2 idle - Don Guhl gave me a 1500 rpm idle with an ECU flash.......Thanks.
As always,
Cliff

Hey Cliff, hope you're doing great. If adjusting the air screws isn’t changing the vacuum, it’s likely the ECU is overriding your manual adjustments. Newer bikes often have systems in place to ensure smooth idling and emissions standards, which means traditional methods don’t always work. Since Don Guhl flashed your ECU, it might be worth checking with him to see if there's a workaround. Good luck!
