ECU from a 07 work on an 08 engine

I purchased an 07 kawasaki zx-14 with an 08 engine..... The 07 chassis had the wiring harness, including the ECU. But something isn't right. I don't have spark or fuel. 🙁
So my question is this... Should the 07 ECU work for the 08 engine? Or do I need to have it flashed? Or do I need to get the ECU for the 08 engine?

I guess I should also mention that in the process of starting the bike, as it was turning over. It had the "F1" flash on the screen. First it was "error code 23"(camshaft sensor) I checked it, everything was good. Then I went to start it again, and it gave F1 again. This time it said "error code 21" (crankshaft sensor). I checked. It was also good. Now I'm curious.... Is this perhaps due to the ECU being from the previous year?

Thanks for any advice.

The 06-07 ECU is suited to work with 440cc injectors,
while the 08-11 ECU suited to work with smaller size 330cc injectors.

the reason if you run 06-07 ECU on the 08-11 Bike (throttle with injectors) -> will get a lean AFR. because 440cc injector opens\closes much faster.
if you run 08-11 ECU on the 06-07 Bike (throttle with injectors) -> will get very rich AFR. because 330cc injector opens\closes much slower.

the year of the engine is not important.
what is important is the year of the throttle bodies ( And injectors as main difference)

Possible ways to fix your problem:
1) Flash ECU with correct Fuel maps via woolichracing flasher by yourself. (Or ask someone)
2) Pick up the throttle bodies from the 06-07 year - so it matches the maps inside 06-07 ECU. (or buy only injectors, but i not sure it will fits 08-11 throttle bodies)

if you dont really know what injector size you got,
you can just look and check by the color of them
RED=330cc
BLUE-440cc

also. the year of the ECU you can check by the ECU Number
