High Pressure Rad Cap questions
Hi All, got an 08 ZX14 with 14K miles on it. It never ran too hot, but I did a few things to keep it cool like Water Wetter, ZX10 Fender, 2nd Fan with a manual switch. Never has the bike overheated or dumped coolant into the overflow. I wanted to know about a 1.6 Bar Rad Cap. I understand the concept behind it, but would like to know the dangers. When running a 1.6 cap does the pressure stay at a constant 23psi or only when the coolant reaches a certain temp? Is the extra 7-8psi going to strain parts like hoses or the head gasket? Ive read that some have installed a 1.6 bar cap as a precaution. Im never at the track and wanted to get opinions. What do you think?
