Pulling forks/Lubing steering bearings - Need Advice!
Hi all,
So Im pulling my forks for re-spring at Racetech and while Im at it going to either lube or replace my stearing stem bearings. I need advice on the best way to lift and support the bike for 2 weeks while I wait for the forks. The bike is in a warehouse garage with a high roof, so strapping it to the ceiling wont work. I could use my hydraulic floor jack under the oil pan/headers but I dont think thats a good idea for 2 weeks (Ive used this method to replace my triple tree, but it was jacked up for 45 min). I dont really want to spend $200 on a centerstand and go thru the trouble of installing/removing/installing. Any other suggestions? Also, was thinking of getting needle bearings, how hard is getting the races back in after tapping the old ones out? Is the Kaw tool needed to press them in? Thanks guys!

Find someone with a engine hoist.
You begin by lifting up the bikes rear end with a wheel bike lift.
Then
You roll the engine hoist over to your bike and place a tie down around the neck and attach it to the hook of the hoist.
Lift to desired height
If your concerned that the hydraulic cylinder will leak and lower your bike.
Take a length of angle stock or a length of tubing that you can place over the extended part of the hydraulic cylinder using a couple of hose clamps clamp the tube to the so it can't lower.

Pit Bull makes a nice front stand that will adapt with another piece to lift under triple tree.
