lose cam chain tensioner
Will a lose cam chain tensioner cause your bike to shut off at highway speeds

I would`nt think so. How much noise is the cam chain making.I would think you have an electronic problem.Are the battery terminals good and tight.You have a zx14? year? .Checked for stored fault codes in the ecu...?

If it's loose enough to jump teeth maybe, valve timing could change causing bent valves or bad running. If it is bad changing to the Ape manual adjuster would be my recommendation, I've been using one for years & only adjusted it once since installing it.

Depends on if the bike starts back up ok. If it doesn't then the cams jumped time and now it's engine teardown time.
if it starts back up and runs fine then i'd rule out the CCT causing the shutoff problem. Is the motor making rattling noises?
I'd change the spark plugs and see if the problem goes away.
