Sorry but I'm not following you ZX12. What I'm asking is if they're good for 100 passes before bearing issues, a 1000 passes, etc.

LOL what he is saying is as many as you can till it blows up, then one less. Which of course is obvious.
I would think the projected number of passes would vary greatly depending on setup, nitrous use, hitting the limiter, etc.

I would venture a guess that its close to unlimited if your oiling system is up to the task of working under those g forces at the hit and pistons never touch anything they arent supposed to

We have many +5mm stroker engine customers that run full seasons. And several with thousands of miles on the street.
There's nothing wrong with a weld up stroker crank if the engine is built correctly.
There are things we do with the oiling systems to keep the crank "floating".
And our cranks have the ball plugs removed and are tapped for screw in plugs. This allows the blind oil galleys where its cross drilled to be cleaned properly to get all the grinding residue and nitriding hard scale out. This hard scale can come loose and destroy the bearings in no time.
Keep the oil level topped off and cut open every oil filter that comes off the engine.

Hey, I Appreciate the response Y2KZX12R. Jim your willingness to take the time out both online and by phone and share your knowledge with us is Highly Appreciated. I have dealt with several top builders and none has been as willing to take the time out to address
different questions regarding engine builds. As a result of that, as well as you coming highly recommended, I know where my Motor will be going this Fall/Winter...CNC Competition Bound Babeeee!!!

Thanks guys.
I prefer to have customers understand whats going on and why rather than keeping them in the dark.
I get calls all the time from customers that have had work done at other shops and have no idea what they have and what they paid for. Its surprising that most shops don't give detailed invoices to their customers of what they have paid for.
The biggest thing I've found is matching up the customer with what they actually "need" as a final engine combo or CNC ported head and cam package, is key to a happy customer. That may sound over simplified and easy, but quite often the final engine combination is quite different from what they originally thought they wanted for what they want to do with the bike.
Many times the customer wants a stage 3 head for a street bike. I have to talk them into a stage 1 or 2 head and cam package that cost half as much. Sure i could have sold them the stage 3 head and made twice as much money, but when the street bike sucks to ride because the low and mid-range power is all but gone and the customer is unhappy with the final result, then who's product gets a bad rap?
Its not the customers fault.
Its not a bad product. Our stage 3 heads makes more power than any other zx14 head and cam package that i know of, if its on the correct displacement and compression engine.
It would be my fault for selling them a V8 Tundra pickup truck when they wanted a Prius.
