2012 - ZX14R 6th Gear problems
Taking my 14R in today to have the G/box checked , bike does not want to shift into 6th gear, all the other gears are fine. I know of another 14R that had the same problem, anybody else had this problem

No out of warranty, wouldn't have matter anyway ECU has been flashed, shifter,pipe etc.

Don't you remember when bikes only had 5 speeds?? 6th is over rated

Sounds like the shift star is damaged or the shift drum is damaged somehow.
Keep us updated on what is found.

The sir clip came loose on the 6th gear selector shaft - fork bent, that is what I am told, waiting for parts from Kawa, should be fixed month end. Repair shop is going to under cut the gears as well. Told them to remove the complete Bazzaz Tune Unit & shifter , the shifter has been messing around for quite some time now in the higher rev range from 9000 rpms to 12000rpms. Dont need the Bazzaz anyway have the flashed ECU - Woolich

Wow I didn't expect to hear a circlip failed but they can and obviously this one did.
Truly a rare type of failure. I have almost 140,000 miles on my 06 and the only failure Ive had are the cam chain tensioner and batteries that eventually die lol.
