The Bonneville Experiance
I'm a new guy here. Team member of a ZX-14 powered sidecar that races at Bonneville.
This past year we managed to push a stock engine to 209 MPH. YES STOCK.
All about aerodynamics. This is a rear engine, full bodied machine with a sidecar platform with a 10 inch billet wheel.
But now we need more power. Went there holding the record at 176--added the body and went 209--but lost the record to a Busa powered machine than has been over 220 MPH.
We are retired guys with almost zero funds.
I was at the race shop this morning. The owner of the bike wants the record back. When I went with him last year it was my first trip to the salt. I'm hooked.
I want that record back too.
All we need is a hot rod ZX-14 engine.
We have everything else.
A very proven bike to put the engine in. Last year a bike drag racer from down under rode the machine to 199 MPH.
So if you have that hot rod motor---want to go salt flat racing---and have a chance to enter that 200 MPH club---Let me know

You should ping Doug Meyer in the drag racing section of the site. He and several other members have extensive Bonneville experience.

Hooked ... your in trouble now ...
We may cross paths, our team does a few meets a yr with a couple of bikes from Australia and a couple from California , currently all Suzuki's

You are correct "all you need" is more horsepower. A LOT of horsepower, and traction, and smooth salt, and no rain,and no headwind, and the right gearing,.... All at the same moment in time.
Other than that, it's pretty easy.
For the horsepower part, call Jim Gilnack at Competition CNC in CT. 860-274-0631
He can give you all that is available (depending on your budget, of course)

I tried a picture--but----anyways yes, we were talking traction yesterday and it has not been one of our issues--we are a tank, even adding more weight with changes

Anyone want to ride this baby----all you need is the HP in your motor that we don't have
Sure a quick 9 second run is cool-------but what if you screwed it on for 5 miles???
