Gen 1 Akro pipe on gen 2?

I found the Akro pipe that I want. The problem is it is for a gen 1. Will it fit on a gen 2? I'm sure I could make it work but I don't want to have to.

I'm sure it has been discussed. But I couldn't find it.

Thanks in advance.

'Fit' is an interesting word...

The exhaust ports on a 14R are MUCH larger than a Gen 1 14. Did Akro re-size the flanges to compensate? The OEM head pipes on the 14R are also MUCH larger to compensate for the additional displacement/horsepower... did Akro compensate? My guess is yes since there are different part numbers for the differing model years.

So, the bent tubing and muffler will fit - but it will surely come at a compromise in performance.

Brock makes a good point. While Akro makes a great pipe (I ran them on my zx10's back in the day) and the fit and finish on an Akro is amazing! I would think Brocks CT would perform better with a similar look and you would get the benefit of Brocks Map Support. Just a thought

Hello Matt,

Yep - we have been walking around it for a while now. Bryan has been very busy with his 'real job' - hopefully he can get your project moving soon. We are wall to wall here with R&D. Sounds like you will have a killer when he is done.

You don't need me - Bryan is very well trained in the use of our dyno. But I am always here on premises and available to consult if he needs me. It's rare, but it does happen.

Correct, Brocks pipes are built to the Tee, & they simply WORK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We race every weekend(2nd gear roll on to the Top) I delt wih Brock personally right when he opened his buisness. I pulled a micron exhaust off my 99 Busa(sock bore & OEM pistons) & installed Brocks pipe & mapp, it blew the micron out the water, the next weekend, I got accused of hiding NOS, etc, saying theres no way a exh & map will make that much difference, & that waws agains another Busa but his was a 1363cammed, hd wk etc& we were the same weight. this my friend is a very TRUE story..
PS , I have Brocks pipes on my 06 14 & the 2012 14R, they also have a good reptutation locally.
No oher way to go but Brocks!!!!!!!!!!!
