Slip on exhaust compatibility?

So I see some systems show similar year compatibility and others show that they fit more years.... So my question is "what are the differences in they way that they (slip on only) mount up/fit?" It's just that the older model years are much less expensive than my 2014 and I am a cheap S.O.B.! BTW, I am thinking of going with the yoshimira r77 in carbon, anyone know of where the best deals are?

My 2012 has a Boz Bros 06/07 slip on exhaust mounted. It was $100 from Iron Pony. It doesnt fit the 2012 header so I cut off about 2 inches from the mid pipe, inserted an exhaust adapter, 2 1/8" ID to 1 7/8 OD, into the mid pipe and now it fits the bike perfectly. Sounds good and is much lighter than the stock exhaust. The Boz comes with a street muffler or a race muffler. I originally had the street mufflers but have since added the race mufflers which fit the same mid pipes. Neither are loud enough to bother my neighbors.

I also had a set of cheap Chinese imported fake carbon fiber mufflers which cost $60 delivered for the pair. They wouldnt fit the Boz mid pipes so I bought another adapter, $3.50 each, and mounted the pair to the Boz mid pipes. They are louder but have silencers to quiet them. They look good and are very light. I change back and forth depending on my mood...lol.

Here is the Boz Bros street: The race mufflers are 3 inches shorter and have a larger diameter core.

Here is the cheapie fake carbon fiber:

Here is a reason to go with the slip-ons, especially if you don't race. The full system over the slip-ons gives you about 10hp more but changes the looks of the bike. What do you want more to save a few hundred $$ and keep the dual exhaust look or to drop a few hundred more, a few extra lbs and spend a few hundred more? If you race the later would be preferred if you don't the extra $$ could be spend elsewhere such as a steering damper, new tires, breaded steel brake lines, lower foot pegs, etc...
