Just ordered a Shorai Battery for my 08 zx14

I did a little research and it seemed like a good battery from the comments.

Anyone care to input on how theirs is holding up?

Thanks
Todd

Thats interesting because I say alot of people talk about how good they start in the cold weather? Videos with temp gauges etc.

Hmm...

Im told you have to cycle them once or twice then all is good. Doesn't usually get that cold here in FL so I haven't had any issues.

Well I am in Michigan ( though I ll be heading to Florida for Daytona hopefully next year ), so I see cold weather, but I usually don't ride in cold weather, which to me is below 40.

Any temps below 40 degrees requires turning the key ignition to ON, and allow the battery to cycle for a minute or two.

I have had mine for about 2 years, and no problems so far.

By swapping out the original battery & battery tray, the weight savings is close to 11 pounds.

That is interesting, maybe I just didn't research enough or missed that part of the information. Thank both of you for the information on that. Hopefully I ll have my battery soon and can get my bike running again.... though there is 6 inches of snow on the ground, I won't be do anything except start it up in my shop.

I bought 2 Shoria Batteries a year ago now both are toast. They suck. I also bought their battery charger too. Waste of money.

Going on a year or so with mine. No problems. I plug it into the charger when not in use for a week or more. I've got the little LFX14A2 turning my high compression 1300 motor.

I have Balistic battery's and all is good. Keep ours on the charger too when not in use. When really cold you might have to try and start the bike a couple times but every time you turn on the key or hit the starter button, then turn it off it generates it's own heat and the resistance goes down. This explains it pretty good......

You shouldn't keep the li-on batteries on trickle charger. Keeping them at high voltage will only shorten their lifetime. And you should check your charging systems voltage - too high and you will ruin your battery. And most important thing is not to let them drain empty.

Not a trickle charger......their charger has a storage function as well as a balance function. I find that mine is rarely even on ( working )
