Heating Nitrous Bottle

What's a safe, effective way to warm the bottle if you don't have a bottle warmer?

1) Set bottle in warm water. 2) Pour warm water over it 3) soak a towel in hot water then wrap bottle with hot towel. Watch the pressure tho. Water too hot, especially with a full or over filled bottle can pop that disc while doing #1. U really need a bottle heater and a pressure gauge... Especially as temps outside start to drop Good luck.

Moto, I had already put the bottle in the water before u posted this, coincidently. When I came back, all the nitrous was gone out of the bottle...SMH! I don't know what happened.

I learned the hard way too.. you can't put a full or over filled bottle in very hot water, the safety disc will pop! Sounds like you need a new safety blow off disc now. I never over fill the bottles anymore and I start with just above room temp water. Then maybe add more warm water slowly. You really don't need the bottle more than 85F or so. Watching the pressure is the best way to tell. I only heat them with water in the garage before I head to the track.. or maybe in bucket at the truck in the pits. I have a bottle heater on the bike, of course. I watch the pressures when that's on. You gotta watch the pressure.

Here's what you do, from yrs of n2o experience.........Get a good cooler with wheels and put an electric heating pad in the bottom, it should be the size of the cooler bottom, cover the pad with a towel. Next put your full bottles in upright and tuck then in with towels for 2 reasons, so they don't hit each other and the towels provide good heat distribution. Now plug the heating pad it in on 'low heat' and close the lid. Within 4-6 hours (we do it overnight) your bottles will be 80 degrees and 900psi and stay that way most of the day. If you have an inverter in your truck/trailer etc, keep them plugged in on the way to the track. Now, all that said, first make sure your nitrous system calls for 900-1000PSI, many systems such as Muzzy's work on much lower PSI, like 400-600 so we just keep them room temp, we don't heat them.
