06 zx-14 code 31..help!!!!!!

I was getting FI code 31(down sensor). I replace the sensor and it quit for about a month. Now its back on. I traced the wires to the ecu and cant find any breaks. Is there anything else i should check? Could the sensor be bad already? It usually happens when im at a stop. Until today and it died while driving down the road. The bike has never been laid over, and is basically stock.

Electrical is not my specialty. But here goes. Could there be something else causing the code instead of the sensor? Can you take the sensor out and test it to make sure it is faulty? If its not faulty what circuit or sensor is before it. It could be causing the code.

I was thinking it was something else, but wasnt sure what it could be. How do you test the sensor? I looked at the wire diagram and there looks like some other sensors were connected to it. Im not real good with wire diagrams. It looks like these sensors connect to it but i could be reading it wrong. 2-Main Throttle Sensor ,3-Subthrottle Sensor, 6-Joint Connector I, 7-Joint Connector J,8- Water Temperature Sensor. Not sure if any of these would cause a problem with this.

I would start by bypassing the sensor. That would cut your work in half.

Your next question is likely to be: How do you by pass the sensor.

I can't remember what the exact process is but I'm sure if you did a search on here or a couple other forums you could find it pretty easy.

I didn't mean to sound like a dick, but if you bypass the sensor and it fixes the problem then you know it's in the sensor. If you bypass it and it still don't run then it's in the harness or ECU. jes my .o2

hey anything helps. thats why im on here. Is there anything else that could be going out that would cause this? The sensor is new. Got it from Kawasaki dealer here in tulsa about a month ago. Do you think the ecu could be going bad?

I would check the make sure that your fairing stay is tight, along with the sensor. Excessive vibration could cause this.

Just a thought.
