2006 ZX14 - First Time at the 1/4 Mile
My local track is an 1/8 mile strip, so I decided to make the 2.5-hour drive to Famoso Raceway for one of their test and tune events.
This was my first time at the 1/4 mile. Based on my 1/8 mile slips, I was predicting 9.5-9.7 @ 147-149 mph.
My best pass at Famoso was 9.6 @ 145 mph.

What the heck were all the sparks from the exhaust on the first pass? I've never seen anything like that.

Brucer... I have no idea! I didn't even know it was happening until I watched the video. It never happened on the other passes, and the bike ran fine the rest of the night. ???
BKnight, yes, the PAIR is blocked.

May have been some carbon buildup in the pipe. Burned out when you were hammering it down the track. Who knows.

Leaned out on shutdown when the throttle was closed at high rpm??

BrucerZX14 - I think you were right. Multiple 1/4 mile passes since that first one and no sparks. I think it was something that burned off on that pass, since it was my first ever full 1/4 mile pass on the bike.
