Greggy just purchased a 1990 Ninja ZX-10 !!!

Hey there people!!!

I just thought I'd let you know that I just purchased a very good condition 1990 Ninja ZX-10 B3 with 40,000KMs (~25,000 miles) on the clock. The bike runs very well, no knocks or rattles and has never been dropped. Everything works on it. It's been kept inside for many years but of course will need a few things done to get back to how I want it

Anyway, here are a few photos of her...

I plan on doing the following to her ASAP:

- Full service of all mechanicals including oils, coolant, brake fluid, carb balance etc.
- Getting the rims glass bead blasted, powder coated gloss black
- Complete rebuild of the front and rear suspension
- Fit a new 530 chain and sprocket conversion kit (stock is 532)
- Replace brake pads, bleed brake lines and replace anything that doesn't come up 100%
- Fit new sport ZR rated tyres in 120/70/17 front and 160/60/18 rear (stock sizes)
- Touch up a few tiny scratches here and there, paint anything that needs painting, clean anything that needs cleaning.
- Adding an original gear-sack rack for the bike (that I already own) for those long weekends away!

I think it will be a good stable mate to my 2012 ZX-14R.

Hope you like it!

Cheers

Greggy

I own the same bike. I have a 1989. 41mm flat slides and a Vance and Hines exhaust. Incidently Doug Meyer asked me if I would sell it! No way. I love that old bike. A few more things and I'll have it running..

I had one, great bike! It was heavy but comfortable, had a V & H pipe and the bike actually felt slower, waited months for a Muzzy pipe and it was worth the wait. It was a 4-2-1 and it sounded strange but ran great! CV carbs were tricky but if you jetted them right they ran great. Good Luck with that clean bike....now if I could find a Rickman or a super clean orig Z-1R

Ok here is the "old girl" after she arrived in W.A. - sitting in the bike shop that is going to do a minor restoration and go over her from top to bottom fixing whatever needs fixing, repairing and upgrading.

As progress rolls along I'll post more photos for you all to enjoy, but not too many as I know this isn't a ZX-10 "B" forum

Cheers!

Congrats Greggy. I will say though the picture of it on the rollback is quite
scary looking if you get my drift. Chain's and 4" straps........

Looks like it got there fine from the picture's in the shop.

Hehe no chains were used, they just look like chains. Not a mark on her!

Really good condition over all, this will be an easy restoration as not much needs doing.

Rear 18" tyres in 160/60 size aren't too hard to find, I have another 1988 ZX10 'donor' bike for the restoration and it has brand new Pirelli Angel tyres.

More photos soon!
