MIRock 2013

Hello all. I've Been lurking on here for a while, just getting around to posting though.

I Attended MIRock this past Sunday. 1st time at an all Motorcycle drag event. I have a couple questions, but will give a little history on me first for those who might care.

I used to be heavy into the import drag race seen. I had a 1992 Eagle Talon AWD running a 65lbs/min turbo with supporting mods that put down 500whp and ran a best of 10.80 @128 on a half aborted pass (broke flex plate). So I got tired of always fixing the car as it was heavy and quick, which tends to break things, and sold it. I got back into bikes after a 15 year year hiatus a couple years back. Started back in with a 1998 SRAD Gixxer 600, then moved to a Kawi ZZR1200 which I rode for about a year and a half logging 20k miles on her in that time. Then the wife bought me a 2008 ZX14 for a B-day gift last month and here I am! Great forum by the way!

The MIRock event was a good time. Got to see a lot of people who I've only seen on YouTube run in person. Rickey Gadson and Jeremy Teasley to name a couple. I know Jeremy is a really great rider, but was curious to what mods are on his bike for the True Street class he was running in. I think he was the only one running in the 8's. I could be mistaken on the class, but I think it allows Stock wheelbase and bolt-on's only. Also saw Jeremy run a turbo bike (I think) which got the track record for MPH. Not sure which record since there was another turbo ZX14 running 213mph.

I have another question. I noticed that before the riders on ZX14s started their bikes and after their burnout before the run, they would lean the bike over to the right. Why is that? Are they running so little fuel that they are trying to angle the fuel over to the pump (assuming the fuel pump is on the right side of the tank)? I don't think they were running fuel cells. Thanks for any enlightenment.

They are tilting their bikes to the right to put oil on their clutch plates
