New to forum and ZX14
Hey guys/gals. I just wanted to introduce myself as I am new to this forum and new to a ZX14. Over the winter I upgraded to an 06 ZX14 from an 05 636. First I have to say, wow. I love this bike! I have been reading up on some ideas for the bike (as it is stock minus gaudy dual slash cut voodoo wannabes). I am looking to throw in a power commander, just deciding on a PCIII or PCV. I have to take a break from riding and pull the tank and find out if those secondary flies are out as well.
Based on the fact that there isn't a power commander I am led to believe those are still in. Then the next step will be a full exhaust. And tthat's where I'm hitting a road block. Funds are tight and a friend showed me a link where I can get a Yoshimura full TRC 4-2-1 exhaust for $400. Idk if I should bite or save up for a different setup.
What is everyone's opinions? Thanks in advanced for any input!

Easy to tell if the flies are out.. does it feel like a weak ragged out 600 until you hit 6000 then it explodes like a raped ape that had his balls smashed? If yes, flies are in. If it has decent grunt and maybe a little stumble at around 3000 - 3500 RPM but still pulls with authority below 5000 RPMs, then flies are out. A PC will help you tune out the stumble of course.

Thanks for the input and advice. I like humor involved too. I'm thinking those flies are in.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on the bike.
Dropping the old exhaust will give you a huge weight savings and increased power, no matter what full system you use. Picking the perfect system will get you a few more hp and maybe a little less weight as well. I love the Brock's alienhead I picked up, but I would have gotten the TRC for that price.
Super Street Bike did an exhaust comparison a few years back. Check it out for a good idea of the pros and cons of many full and slip on exhausts. http://www.superstreetbike.com/howtos/1101_sbkp_exhaust_systems_shootout/viewall.html

Yea I remember reading that article. I used to save all my SSB mags, until one day the ol lady got tired of em. I do think I will pick up the TRC. Can't pass that deal up. Thanks for the insight.

I had a TRC full system on my 07. Yosh makes a great system as well. Sato is also a japanese company and thier system will flow as well as the yosh but its also lighter due to the full Ti construction. I think their website is satoracing.com if you want to check them out.
