And again that makes no sence to me if a 230 lb guy has a 1100 lb spring why would they give me a 850 spring when I'm 250 I'm sure it has to be some kind of mistake and don't get me wrong I'm not bashing Brock I respect all his work I just seem to have shit luck buying a 1000 dollar shock for a hobby in this economy is lk buying a new car you want to spend wisely that's why I got it from him

There is quite a big difference between 11" and 12" over. 12" gives a lot more leverage to the arm.

I got my JRi drag shock directly from JRi. They put an 850 on it. I was probably about 300 lbs suited last year and the bike is 10" over. It worked out pretty well at the time. Later in the season I wanted to put my much lighter friend on the bike. I contacted JRi and they sent me a new spring which is labeled "805-810". Bike was still 10" over and my friend weighs about 165 suited. That worked out very well once I got the sag and ride height dialed in for him. Now for the important part. Over the winter I have lost some weight. About 55 lbs or so. I am about 240 now so figure 250 suited. I emailed Tim at JRi and he recommended trying the 805-810 spring by simply adding more pre-load. Still waiting for the race season to begin and I suck for the most part anyway, so it's not like I will have great 60's to report or anything. Shit air up here at 4200 feet... a good DA is under 5000 feet on any given race day... so you can get an idea. Anyway.. track prep here is pretty shitty and I need all the help I can get... I just want to stay hooked up. So I added the pre-load Tim Godshall recommends, and I was able to get about 1 to 1.25" sag set on the 805-810 spring with my weight now. Should work ok. Might even take some pre-load out to get more squat come show time? we'll see? anyway, I am sure the 850 spring would be too stiff... but I'd bet it would be fine at 11" over and might not even be enough at 12". A little additional leverage goes a long way.

Very interested to know what Brock or JRi recommends to you. Do you run a straight link?

Does a Adams (or other brand) straight link give the leverage advantage to the bike or the arm? Just curious.
