Sprocket Bolt Cut Into Swingarm - What would you do

2007 zx14 - A sprocket bolt loosened, backed out and cut into my swingarm. The gouge is about 16th inch deep and cut into the weld for the block holding the axle adjusters.

Does anyone know if the block holding the adjusters actually slides into the swingarm maybe a half inch? This would help me decided what to do about it.

What would you do:

a) paint it and forget about it
b) get the piece re-welded
c) get a new swingarm

Here's a pic.

replace it or repair it, thats right on the weld and these swingarms are made of very thin aluminum. it will brake in time.

The axle carrier is a casting and may be thicker than the swingarm itself. The most important thing is the weld, If that hasn't been compromised you could possibly drill a small 1/16 inch hole to see just how thick it is there? It might go right down to the bottom of those two depressions with the cross-hatch pattern. Depending on what you find, either paint it black or replace the swingarm - and use locking nuts for the sprocket.

If you're in any doubt at all about it - replace the swingarm.

Thanks guys. I see several swingarms on ebay for $45 shipped. I guess that is cheap insurance rather than having mine re-welded.
