yet another nitrous topic

well yesterday i purchased a dry nitrous kit. wont be able to install it till i get home from work which is around february 21. i have been reading all nitrous topics i could find on here. i plan on using 30-40 shot.. i will be installing the kit in the ram air tube. the general consensus i have read is to add 12% fuel from 80-100 throttle and at around 6000k rpm and up. i cant remember what ocatane i run but i think its 93. if not its 91. i know for a fact its either one of these. ill ask the wife when she pumps gas to check for me. ive also read not to hit rev limiter on spray. any other words of advice from all the spray jocks out there?

by the way i do have a pcv and currently run muzzy map. for example lets say i have a table that has -5 in the cell then adding 12% would be 7 correct? this will be the first time i use nitrous. so i just want to try and cover all my bases before i use. my plan is to start with a smaller shot then work my way up to 30-40. i plan on purchasing a wego 3 to monitor afr. the guy at the shop told me that i wouldnt need a nitrous pressure regulator unless i went with a wet kit but this doesnt seem right to me. i figured having a constant pressure spray was what you need to be safe. any input appreciated. sorry if i forgot to mention anything else, im at work and im posting this in a hurry.

If I'm understanding your post correctly, paragraph 2 sounds like you want to spray the bike without dynotuning it or monitoring a/f initially. You said you plan on purchasing it. If you plan on punching numbers into a power commander and having at it without verifying your a/f .... and you have it wrong....BOOM.

I would at the very least have a shop baseline it for you and if you want to make numerical changes with your power commander to see what it does, fine. But punching numbers in and spraying WITHOUT verifying with an A/F meter or dyno first is riskly considering what the cost of replacing a 14R motor.

i want to have it tuned for spray before even spraying. my problem is i dont know of anyone thats good at tuning for nitrous. im having trouble finding a dyno where i live. last time i heard was the guy that tuned a buddys bike with turbo, he blew the engine. i no longer speak to my buddy so i cant ask where he took his bike so i wont take it to the same place. i think ill install it and and drive it to houston to have it tuned. its only a 5.5 hour ride.

Venomous, you need to try one of the two people. Johnny Cheese or Billy Whatley @ Tejas Motorsports. Tejas is on outskirts of Houston and Johnny Cheese is in Austin. You can find phone numbers on the internet. Hope you get things done properly but please let one of these gentleman check out your pills and set up before you spray your bike. Peck

on my snowmobile....a dry shot of 45hp....I am adding 45% on my PC3. I also pull about 3 degree of timing if I remember correctly....

Air fuel is about 10 to 1...nice and safe.

My sled is a Yamaha Apex....with basically a R1 1000cc bike engine is what it is...

I run 91 octane....

I also think the key to using nitrous smartly is a good wideband O2.
