OSR cut oil pan help request
I got my oil pan back from OSR today. Looks great! Anyway, I mistakenly sent them the wrong part thinking I was sending the pickup tube. Luckily, OSR had a spare and simply tossed in the correct part. When I opened the package today it became clear to me the mistake I had made. Anyway, they did not send back the tube I mistakenly sent them. I emailed them and was told that I simply throw this tube away and I didn't need it. What does this tube do?

Connects here:

Thing is, I have a spare, should I leave this part out and forget about it, or cut the one I have by the same amount as the pickup and put it back in?
What does this tube do?

That is the tube that the oil returns to the pan. Clem knows what he is talking about. Leave it off. If you out in on, and it's too long, it could hit the bottom of the pan not alloing oil to flow back into the pan.

When installing the pan if you have a new gasket is there any need for silicone sealant?

Installed my OSR cut pan with new gasket (no sealant) on sunday and ran it for 15 min. All is good so no sealant needed.

Some eye candy.
OSR cut pan and TiWinder just installed. Really liking the additional ground clearance.
