Has anyone done a road course on the 14??

I have the opportunity this March to take my 08', stock suspensioned, SWB but currently lowered bike to Jennings for what would be my first road course ride. I'd be looking forward to the gainfull instruction gained there plus it's with a big group of generally really good people from a Blackbird forum I belong to.

I weigh in with leathers and helmet about 215 right now. The suspension would go back up to stock height, and after the February bike bash event that I'll be attending , my rear tire will be just about ready for replacement( pilot road II right now ).

I'm wondering if this is a recipie for disaster! Lol. I'd be running at my own pace of course and quite possibly the slowest bike out there, but I'm not there to win races for the most part. I'm there to learn some great road skills that would be usefull on the street for the little street riding I still do.

So, have any of you done this before and if so, how much prior road course riding have you done?

I say go for it. The owner of my old ZX14 did a track day on Pilot Road II's and had a blast.

I have done quite a few track days, and the ZX14 is very capable.

Here are a few suggestions:

Try the new Bridgestone S20 tires. Go with a 190/55 rear.

Get your suspension sag set up for your weight.

Usually there is a suspension guru at the track days, pay the $50 to have your suspension dialed in.

Ask a track regular if they can lead you for a few laps to show you the race line.

Flush your brake fluid all around.

Here are a few pictures of my track prepped 2008. It weighs 480 pounds & 190rwhp.
