I have had several RCC kits on my Hayabusa's in the past and they are wonderful kits with fit and finish beyond compare. I had a stage 1 kit on a 00 Busa with 20K plus street miles and never a problem.

I don't know much about turbo's but at 6.5psi maxing 259hp isn't that less per psi than what i have seen elsewhere? Im not knocking anyone's work I'm trying to get a baseline of what to expect out of a turbo bike. Someone teach me about what to expect. I have a 12r with 40shot of nos, i just bought a 14r and i just don't see nos on it in my future. I am interested in a turbo for the 14r but i don't drag and i don't ride track. It will just be for the street.

All dynos read different. But that's about the average I'd say for 6-7psi. This is a pump gas tune so who knows how safe they have it

So the turbo's that produce over 300hp what kind are they and how safe are they for longevity? When I'm ready i would need to consider longevity and stability since it will be my do it all road machine. Including touring.

Any kit on the market will make enough power to bend the stock rods. But you will need good fuel and good tuning for them to last, even at 250hp you can still melt pistons if the tune if off or if you are not using the right fuel.

But it will take about 10psi to hit the 300hp mark on a stock compression motor. And that is WAY to much boost on pump gas built motor or not IMO

Mine made 254hp at 5.5-6lbs so those numbers are about right for 6.5lbs.

Mine made 260 on 7psi, 330 on 12psi, 384 on 16 psi and the tire would just spin on anything passed 16 lol but we did try 18, im guessing 400-410 lol E85 and a stock motor!!!!!!

18lbs,,,,, wow. I have been running 9lbs on 94 octane pump fuel for the last 10,000 K. I feel my time is short. When snow stops I guess we will find out.

It was on e85 and was out of injector so it got turned down. It was just for a dyno number it lasted at 12psi for a long time and finally spun a bearing when it ran low on oil one night (cut down pan)

This is great info. So on a stock zx14r engine if i wanted stability and longevity it sounds like anything 5psi and under should be fine. That only gives me about 240hp for the street. While that is nice is it worth the expense and trouble? nos might be more affortable and less risky but than i would always be looking for juice and that isn't easy when out riding around.

Turbos make the most amazing street bikes. My nitrous bikes were quicker but I was always having to fill the bottles. For the street I'd take a turbo any day.

Where the real fun is located is in the torque. Look at his graph above roughly 110lbs of torque at 5000 RPM. That pull is simply Amazing and you use it Everywhere, Every time you ride. Not just at the Drag strip. For me this is what makes the Turbo 14 the most fun bike I have ever owned. Makes me happy just looking at it lol

Nos I'm sure is fun too, but if your not going wide open throttle, would you spray it ???? If your answer is no maybe give Richard a call. Would love to see more pics

This is the big question. When I asked he was not sure as there were pricing detail to work out.

If you look at his street Busa kits prices are from 4350 to 6350 depending on Turbo I'm sure.

I for one will pay more for a better Quality kit. I got F-cked so bad last time,,,,, still sore, lesson learned.

I did the home made turbo kit back in 06 on the 14. I sold that kit to 01smokes on here. I have had a bunch of Turbo Busa's but the 14 was a different story. I was plaqued with boost leaks from day one. The biggest and last one to find was under the frame by the steering neck. As it was trial and error I quickly melted the stock pistons ring lands as there is not much there. tried upping the boost and spun the #3 rod bearing twice. Got the high pressure relief valve and never had anymore oiling problems. Went with the shorter rods and turbo pistons and tuned to 389 RWHP.
ran that for a while with good results then parted the bike out. I see that the BEGI 2025 Fuel pressure reg is mounted right where I had mine.

I have since pieced 2 more kits together over the years and have gotten good and sealing the air box and making sure the boost leaks are not around. I'd still turbo a gen2 booza or hell even a gen one for that matter. But the 14 just rides so much better than a booza I keep finding my way back to em.

A Gen 1 will be the cheapest to do. I made 500 RWHP on two of my Gen 1 Busa's and had half of what a new 14 cost. As far as turbo bikes go... If you ever get a chance to ride one your normally aspirated bike will never feel strong again. Going 190+ MPH in the 1/4 mile is awesome. The Pull is like a drug.
