Does anyone know where to buy a shinko hookup for a good price? I believe my local bike shop sells them for 170 - 180if I'm not mistaken... ppl tell me there cheaper online. (Never ordered a bike tire online) looking for 200/50/17

If you buy from chapparal, ,make sure it is really in stock, last time I bought something from them, it wasnt even in stock, but the website said it was, and they didnt even bother to call or e-mail me to tell me it wasnt in stock, I called about 6 days later after I didnt receive a tracking number, then they told me it wasnt in stock, so I told them to cancel, they said ok, order is cancelled, then about two weeks or so later, I get a part in the mail from them ! they charged my credit card and everything, had to go through the hastle of returning it etc ...

Anyway, here is another place, I bought from them once, and they did good ..

If your looking for cheap go to wally world, I'm sure they got some shit to sell you. Try your local shops that way maybe they'll still be there when you need them. Just a thought.

Some truth to that, but on the other side guys also don't like paying more then they have to.

not that I'm trying to be "cheap" I'm just trying not to get. fucked over on the price when its 180 for the tire and another fee for installation.. spending your hard earned money the smart way.. either way I do all my part ordering from them, it's just the tires they have high prices

Some of us do our own mounting and balancing. No local stealership will touch internet prices where I am at. Their loss. Hell, most won't even mount tires unless you purchase from them....sorry, not gonna cut it. Not sure how they even stay IN business with the way most places are ran. See it all over the place...of course there are a few good ones, but they are the exception, not the rule.

Personally for the extra $25 at the dealer, I would get it directly from them. If there is anything that is not 100%, have them deal with it..... Not to mention if you don’t support your local dealer, he might not be around to put your tire on next time. Bike sales are pretty bad the last 2 years; service is what keeps these guys above water. If you feel like you’re getting fucked at your local dealer, maybe it’s time to find one that is treating your right. I am very fortunate to have LI Kawasaki local, they ALLWAYS do the right thing and will come as close to internet pricing as they can.

Well it's a good hundred more at my local dealer as it's 30.00 a tire for mounting and balance so there's 60.00 and then I can get a tire for an easy 40 to 50 cheaper on line. I happen to have better things to do with that 100.00.

That is pretty much what I find as well. And I don't have to pay for someone to scratch my wheels and then just say it's all part of tire mounting. No thanks.

My wallet gets to make the vote most of the time and crappy service seals the deal. You'd think with the current economy that service dept would be bending over backwards to keep customers or doing things to attract them. But most seem to be stuck in the mindset of "we are the dealer and your options are limited". Not this guy. I don't take being talked down to or treated like some second class citizen too well. Why pay for that?

Sorry to see you all have such crappy bike shops around you. I have 4 or 5 that will give a good deal on tires & discount mounting if you buy there making the total close to internet plus mounting prices and if somehing goes wrong you have somewhere to get help or replacement from. But then I live in bike heaven, 365 riding days a year.
