2012 zx14r filter fits 06/11
bought a wrecked zx14r last week and did some checking. the 2012 filter will fit the 2006- 2011 frame with slight mods. if you take the plastic frame out that holds the filter in the 06 the r filter slides right in. you have to add some foam to the one end and drill a couple of holes in the filter where the screws where holding the frame in. best to go aftermarket filter that way the mods to the filter are a one time job.

When I compared them, it sure didn't look like it would fit without some serious mods!

But if you remove the inner support (in the airbox), that frees up a lot of room. I guess looks are sometimes deceiving!

take the frame out that holds the 06 filter in place 2 screws on the right side and the r filter slides in.

I mounted one in a 08 frame looks factory. there are mods but none to the frame. that 2012 filter is a lot better.

put a bmc gen 2 filter on a 06 14 and picked up .05 et

maybe you should try one. brock pulled the filter on a 2012 and could not get the hp numbers back
