Nice show Tom. I am sure it is fun.. looks like a blast for tuners and builders and certainly to pilot what ya built. That said, I yawned pretty wide over the "stock" Bugatti Veyron stuff. I mean wow... dude shows up with an all stock Veyron, sits in the chair and smashes the pedal to the floor and holds the steering wheel for 1 mile. Talk about tacky. And the dude seemed to be bragging.. as though he did anything at all to make it happen.. standing there in his badged up race suit and making a point about the factory wheel upgrade.. yeah.. lame! Video should have been about the guys that built the car or any car or just 2 minutes of you hauling ass. Again, nice show and way to represent. Bugatti Veyron guy was a complete tool tho.

Thanks for the kudos, guys.

MotoC ycho is exactly right about it being a blast for tuners, builders and pilots. There are a number of guys who gain the satisfaction of building and tuning the vehicles that other folks are riding (I have a couple out there that I've helped with) along with the "pilots" who get on those machines and get it done. I'm very proud to say that I do both. OK I'm bragging a little.
You'd be surprised at the number of folks out there who have turned over the reigns to someone else cause they came to realize that, quite simply, it scared them. Nobody should call these guys a pussy either. I'm not just talking pencil pushers either. A buddy of mine who has gone close to 200 in the quarter acknowleged that it wasn't for him.

While is was gratifying to put a $1.5 car on the trailer with my $15 thou. Kawasaki, it still was very cool to watch this Bug get it done. The Bugatti and Car & Driver guys were a great bunch of folks and very approachable.

Thanks again,

Tom

The way the starting line is set up, they have 2 vehicles lined up to go sown the track. Right lane goes, then left lane, then right lane...

I was lined up next to the Bug when he left the starting line. I was thinking "ooh ooh, this'll be cool" It was very anti climactic. The car just kinda rolled out, probably out of fear of breaking something, but then look out. That thing got small really fast. Despite the cost, it is pretty impressive and under the hood, it's total eye candy.

In the video as the camera pans right, you'll just see my 14 come into view.

By the way, that red '69 Camaro is seriously impressive. Google "Big Red One Camaro" or Big Red Camaro". Lots of video. Beautifully engineered car.

Johnny,

Karen and I would love to see you there although I don't know if my heart can take any more of your stories.

I have never laughed so hard for so long as that Saturday night in Beeville. "Switch!"

Karen says don't forget to shake a gourd.
