WOT microswitch

I'm looking to fit a WOT switch for direct activation of a nitrous solenoid (no relay).
What sort of current does a solenoid draw and what kind of switch is best suited.
I remember seeing a picture of Lee's WOT switch but can't find it now.

Thanks, but at that price it certainly isn't!
I did spot this on the bottom of the page you linked.

That's what I'm after but I'm looking for the speck so I can order it from a UK electrical retailer and not have to pay the $30 schnitz wants for shipping here!

Thanks Lee.
Thats the picture I was looking for! Should make life a lot easier when it comes to fitting.
I know a couple of places that stock NOS parts so I'll make some enquiries, see if they can be used without a relay.

I have a NOS switch as well - It's almost like this bike was designed to use one, the fit is just so simple with the frame bar in place at the throttle trigger.

I never used a relay on mine but i never used more than a 30 shot either ..It fired my N20 as well as a LED light at full throttle so i knew when i was on spray and WOT ..

Guys.....Quick question - why would you use a relay, regardless of the shot size?

Not on a dry shot , but on a big wet kit i would .. All the mico switch does is commit a ground .. I see no reason it use a relay up to a 50 dry shot ..The miro switch is really not carring any load ..

I didn't realise you used it for nitrous Lee.
I remember you showing the picture to somebody (Patrick?) who wanted a WOT light and thought that was the only reason you had it. The reason I asked about the relay is I've read very different numbers for the solenoid current draw. From as little as 0.6amp right up to 30amp! As you say, the bigger draw seems to be for BIG wet shots, but I couldn't find a reliable figure for small dry shots.
The thought did occur to me though. I could just stick the solenoid on a battery and check the current.

My plan is to have the Muzzy n2o system run off both the starter button and the WOT mechanical 'plunger', all via a switch on the dash that will also initiate a 'fat' overlay map on my PC5. There maybe times when I won't want the 50hp shot until I'm well up into 6th gear. FYI - Just to be safe, on a 50 shot of juice or more I always run with a 50/50 mix of pump and C14........Sadly, I've learned the hard way that detonation can be very expensive.

only reason to use a relay is if your nos controller isnt powerful enough to operate the selinoid. size of the shot is irrelivant. that is controlled by the jet. nos mini and the daytona are both able to controll the selinoid without an added relay. both have built in tps switches so no xtra wiring. really the easiest way to go.

I ran a 30 shot on my 2006 zx14 just to see what would happen .. Didn't run it long.. Best was 8.53 @ 163 if i remember right .. That is what is so sweet about the 2012 ZX14R , it runs 8.40s on motor ..

Yes i will BUT only after i max this bike out on the stock motor and pump gas .. I'll will only go with a 30 shot .... I'm not all that crazy about spray so i don't use it that much .. A 30 shot would really help in the summer heat to make my own air ..

Put the solenoid on a meter yesterday and it draws just over 6amps.
The microswitches appear to come in 5amp, 10amp and 15amp as common sizes so I've bought a couple of 15's to give plenty of margin.
The solenoid I've got is rated up to 150HP so it's pretty safe to say, anyone running a "normal" dry shot will be using a solenoid with similar or less current draw.
