The RK tool is the one I have too and it will split them if you dont do it super slow because of the tip design imo. The newer and bigger Motion Pro tool did a good job when I used it helping a friend put on a new EK chain a few weeks back. That thing is really heavy duty.

Don't know much about them but what I have read seems posative.
Seems idiot proof. (that's why I'm looking at them )

They don't offer that for the 530 ZZZ chain .. Looks heavy and them bolts sticking out may hit something ..

Don't know about the availability but the ends aren't an issue. The link isn't actually bolted together. The nuts you can see are used to "press fit " the side plate with an interference fit on the pin. They are then removed and the remaining threads are snapped off. The pins are "waisted" so they snap off in the right place. The end result looks very tidy.

My wife sells alot of those........but I don't know if they are available for the zzz chain.......
I will ask when she gets home. She said it saves a lot of people from over tightening there rivit links and coming back to the store for additional links.

I just looked at my tool. It is an EK chain tool. Got if from Schnitz but it looks like they only carry the RK tool now. Looks almost the same. Either your end for mushrooming the pin is worn out or you may be trying to mash it down too far. You don't have to press it down as much as you think for it to hold. The Motion Pro tool I used to have split them every time. I think the taper on the tool was too agressive.

Teddy i just got a new press pin and rear plate , That is what i used last night and still split the rivet .. Hell Teddy i'm not the Hulk and i was doing it with just my hands .. Maybe i'm stronger than i think i am .. I'm getting close to the price of a new chain buying all these master links and adding the shipping costs .. Nobody in town has this Masters in stock , so i have to order them ... Sucks

Looks like you're right about the fitment, Lee.
After a lot of searching this is the only place I could find that lists the fitments:
http://www.moto-chains.com/site/898528/product/mstr%20-%20screw
The ZZZ isn't there!
Unless anyone else knows different...................

Hey Lee, Moses......I have what the wife brought home and it is an EK530ZV-X2. She said several guys have put them on their zzz chains with no complaint's but I don't think they are running 8.40's with 1.20's to 1.30's 60 foot times either........... Lee open your Tucker Rocky street book and see what the tensile strength of the zv chain is . It might work for you...it might not. Hope that helps.

Hi Lee......look on page 833 or so of the street bike catalog at the bottom of the page ( don't know what year book you have )
Looks like it should work for you. The zzz 530 has 11,110 lbs of tensile strength and the ZVX2 530 has 10,560 lbs.

Neither am I

I Have a Regina 530DR chain and several clip links for when I fit my new arm over the winter.
I was looking at the screw links for refitting the stock chain for the road.

Like i said i have never had a problem like this before , it just may be me or the way i'm doing it or the tools i'm using .. I do have a thing about over thinking things .. Sometimes i just out smart myself and fuck up .. Since i have done so many without problems i may just be rushing it and causing the problem myself ..Tonight i did get the master on the bike without splitting it .. I don't like the look of it but it is on there ...Little things like this bug the shit out of me and i'll do them over and over till i feel it's right ..I think they call it Obsessive–compulsive disorder ...
