little dissapionted at first track outing..

Part of me is happy, part is upset..

I am 220 dressed. bike was stock, lowered. no straps. just link and forks pulled up.
fastest pass of the day was 10.05 at 143. there was a 10 mph head wind all day. the mph stayed 142-143 all day. it was a track rental and i made over a dozen passes..

there were SEVERAL gen one bikes, stretched, brocks, the works going upper nines at 138-139 mph.. there was not a single Busa trapping over 140.. these were all stock motor bikes..

my 60' was no better than a 1.80 all day. i just cant get this thing down the track for the first 330 feet.. i feel it needs a gearing change but it was powering up in second alot so is gearing like my old gen 1 {16 43) going to make it worse? I feel it was fighting me in first all day.. will pulling the flys make it easier to control? i did sprockets and the flys on my gen one at once so it was just like hitting the bike with a hammer, i am afraid this might make the bike harder to ride out..

i tried 3500-7500 and when it camed out hard all it would do is power into second and come up.. i rode it out almost every time, BUT, i am missing something..

how fast are other guys my weight going?

i m sure this is the 300th post like this, but hey, cut me a break..lol i feel kinda like a monkey not getting this thing in the nines..

1/8th miles were in the 6.60 116 range..

"no straps"

Step 1 is to add a strap so that the initial movement of the front of the bike doesn't get a "running start" to jerk the front wheel up.

Cheap and easy and will get you into the nines.

____________
You only need two tools: WD-40 and Duct Tape.
If it doesn't move and should, use the WD-40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.

Strap it ......Pull the flies ...........Go to the track and go every week , that is the only way you will get faster ... Oh yes don't blame the bike , it has the power , you just need know how to use it ...
