Weds night test an tune .

The cool front wasn't as good as i wanted but it was better that a fews ago
Density Altitude: 1443 feet
Relative Density: 95.85 %
Temps in the mid to high 80s , humidtity still hight at 71% ..

Track prep to my suprise was pretty good .. First two runs i spun but when the sun went down the track hooked at the starting line really good ..I did have some tire spin at the top end that killed some MPH and ET , but all and all to to bad .. Best of the night was a 1.31 60 5.45 @ 129 and change .. Had a little wheely on that run and trimed the throttle a bit in first gear , so that cost me a bit of ET .. I had the rear shock set to soft and the bike came down to hard on the the tire and hit and my tag and tag bracket .. Pretty much killed my tag and bracket .. Going to have to fix that .. Other than that no other problems ... We have a reinforcing cool front moving in this weekend that may help drop the DA some more .. ( finger crosses ) Going to hit the 1/4 mile track Sat night race for money to go to a Cure for Cancer.. If i can see a DA around 1000 feet i may be able to beat my 8.47 .. If not i'll have to wait a few more weeks for a real cool front to hit FL .. It's great that i will be able now to get to the track more offten and get my skills back .. I'm making too many mistakes , I have been off the bike for a long time and just not got myself back in the swing of things .. I got to get my act together ..

Teddy was there with me along with two other guys with stock wheel base ZRX1200s .. One of them i built a 1224 motor with yosh Cams that runs real strong .. But at stock wheel base it's hard to ride it .. NO strap and a 16 tooth sprocket made the bike a pogo stick in the first 3 gears .. The other was a stone stock ZRX1200 .. No mods of any kind and much easier to ride ..Teddy rode both bikes and the 1224 motor ran 7.18 @ 104 with a mid 1.70 60 foot time .. The stocker was much easier to ride and ran 7.25 @ 96 .. with a mid 1.60 foot time .. It was fun watching Teddy man handle SWB bikes with no strap or lowering .. I let Teddy ride my ZX14R .. He came back and just could not believe how damn hard the bike pulled once he went wide open throttle ..

As most of you know i changed back to the shinko 008 slick that i had run before on this bike .. I installed the tire and did the ballance myself on our new ballancer .. I had always want to see just how far a new tire would move on the rim ( drag racing ) .. I maked the tire and after 3 runs it had moved 1/3 around the rim !!! 3 more passes and it moved 3 more inches .. After that is seems to almost stop moving ( maybe a half inch more )... That suprised me how much it moved .. I'm going to pull the tire and reballance it before Sat night .. I hope now it stays in place ..

I have to tell you that the new Nomar tire machine i got worked very very nice .. If anyone is thinking about gettting one , let me tell you it's a nice tire machine and built very well .. I'm very happy i got it ..

Wish I could do a 1.31 60ft thats awsome riding glad to see the spinning issues are clearing up. I was using the 003 U-Soft and now am using the Hook up both amazing tires but the 003 seems to have lasted longer.
I have a no mar tire changing machine I purchased the blue package. I have done over 300 tires on it with no issues and only changed out the demount tip once, what a great product they make.
Keep it up SmokinZX14.

Thanks for letting my make a pass Lee. After getting out of the groove and heading toward the wall I'm surprised you offered to let me go again. I should of taken you up on that. Very impressed on just how hard the bike pulled!

Enjoyed reading about it, especially the part about the ZRX's.

Maybe because I just bought another one. I had an 02 Red that I sold to get the 06 14. That was a mistake (the selling part, not the buying part). Made up for it by buying an 03 Blue recently.

BTW, it came with a SteddyTeddy backrest!!!

You only need two tools: WD-40 and Duct Tape.
If it doesn't move and should, use the WD-40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.

It did go to the right for Teddy with a 1.57 60 footer, and no he didn't spin ... I went straight every pass ..

I didn't have something lined up for sure. I'm always nervous about making a pass on someone elses bike for the first time. Give me 2 or 3 passes and I start to settle in. Was my first night down the track in maybe 4 months now so I was very rusty and frankly just a wee bit scared of the 14r. It is a beast!

After I got there I did wish I had rode my ZRX1100 down instead of the Hog. After riding the other 2 ZRX's I'm pretty sure I could of got my piped 1100 into the 6's, even with the bags strapped on. lol
